Nicolai picked up his glass of water and took a sip as he waited for the doors to shut and the lights to dim. Present physically or holographically were the various ranking members of the RS, and at least this time around, he had some better news to lay out. He set the glass down and approached the podium.

“So, I’ve got news that isn’t as bad as it was earlier in the month, but I won’t insult anyone’s intelligence here by saying it was good.” Nicolai said, and toggled the holoprojector to a map of the sector, with various forces and borders drawn in red and green.

“What I can report on is that we’ve managed to successfully hold the line in Aurora, but it was not a walk in the park. The bulk of the enemy fleet was routed over Aurora, but not without significant loss on our own part.” Nicolai started, “And I believe we lost some major command and control capabilities in the area?” He said, glancing to the distorted hologram of the mysterious person behind the RS’s logistics for confirmation, but the uncomfortable silence left him feeling like that was a dumb question. Clearing his throat, he continued.

“As such, I am currently recommending that we redeploy the Redemption and Patriot groups to Aurora to shore up losses.” Nicolai said.

“But is that going to be enough? The numbers I’m looking at don’t appear promising.” Admiral Borran said.

“Because they aren’t.” Nicolai replied bluntly.

“And that’s your best recommendation? Spread our forces out too thin to cover Aurora?” Admiral Falcion countered.

“The Imps are plowing through the Cadrel Expanse like banthas in an antique store, and our forces aren’t able to match them one-on-one, so they’re resorting to hit-and-fade and raids behind the lines to try and slow them,” Nicolai explained, “And we’re still waiting on them to strike Subterrel, but so far that has yet to happen. Keeping our forces in Subterrel in place, while also using some of their assets to back up the Expeditionary Force in the Expanse is our best bet.”

“Then pull the Vigilance Group who aren’t helping the CEEF and put them in Aurora.” Kaz replied, talking as if he was lecturing a particularly slow student.

“Because ignorin’ intelligence inn’tha best o’ ideas, Admiral Falcion. Look where that’ got us.” Fleet Commander Vandroth finally said, “If Nico says they’re stayin’ in Subterrel and helpin’ in tha Expanse, then I concur with General Ginovef’s recommendations. Admiral Falcion, prepare ah assault force from within yer fleet. Greeop has been left well enough alone thus far, yeh can spare tha’.”

“For those of you haven’t been paying attention, or just don’t care, we’re not winning. We’re either barely holding ground or we’re losing outright. If what you’re only reading is just the cliff notes of what I’ve been gathering, then you’re missing the large picture.” Admiral Hawkins added. “So if you wanna ignore what I’m trying to tell you and what General Ginovef’s suggesting and try to go on the offensive, be my guest. The deaths of everyone involved are on your head and then remember, I told you so.”

“The Greeop Sector itself, along the southern border, has largely been secured thanks to the efforts of the Allegiance Battle Group, who are mobilizing right now to reinforce that area. But we cannot afford a repeat over Aurora.” Nicolai finally said to curb further argument, “And right now, this is our best bet.”

The mysterious logistics officer finally chimed in, “We are playing from behind, and I would concur that something has to be done. They managed to upload a significant amount of data out of the Aurora command base, and we’re not sure exactly what they acquired but that seems to have been their primary objective. On top of that our ground defenses are just now coming back online, but the damage to our space forces was extreme. They have a plan which they are pursuing, we do not.”

“Since we can’t take the enemy head-on, our best bet is to strike the enemy much in the same fashion as the Cadrel Expanse Expeditionary Force is; targeting the enemy’s rear areas, performing recon to anticipate future enemy movements, and use our more mobile forces to work around the enemy’s brute force. Classic Rebel tactics.” Nicolai replied.

“There’s some more I need to chime in on.” Admiral Hawkins said, “At least one recon mission has revealed that the Imperials are taking various infrastructure intact and turning them against us, such as taking sensor platforms intact and communications relays. So do not assume that anything you’re doing is secure from the enemy. I wouldn’t be a bit shocked if this little conference call is being monitored.”

“Wait, you’re just now telling us that?” Admiral Borran demanded.

“Oh fer kriff’s sake, people. The enemy’s goin’ to figure it out anyways. And he didn’t say that we’re totally compromised while flailin’ about and sayin’ we’re doomed.” The Fleet Commander replied, “No offense tah General Ginovef, but it’s not like Nico here just pitched some grand battle plan like he was bloody Ackbar, it’s our only bloody course of action. Now, any truly sensitive information will be transferred by courier until RSI can confirm tha security of our comms.”

“To that end, you’ve all been delivered copies of several operations I’d like you all to look over and start putting into practice. We’ve got a limited window of opportunity to strike and to shore up defenses before we have these guys looking to kick our teeth in again.” Nicolai said, calling up the more detailed operational plans...

Tour: Hammerfall
Operation: Titan's Dawn
Operation Start Date: August 1st, 2015
Operation End Date: September 31st, 2015

Welcome back, RS!

Your IMPRESSIVE efforts last session has kept the RS forces from being utterly dominated by the encroaching Imperial forces. We must continue to hold the line while finding out as much as we can about our new foe, so that we can bring the fight to them.

Objective 1: X-Wing Alliance

Put down your caf and pay attention pilots, this one is important! We desperately NEED to find the command behind these recent attacks so that we can strike at the heart of this new imperial threat. As I’m sure you already guessed, that means A-wings, boredom, but then some real quick thinking and flying to get your butts back out of there if you do come across something!

Objective instructions: Download the mission, fly it, and report using the reporter.

Point distribution: 1 point for a mission report, 1 point for surviving, and 1 point for a narrative conveying what you discovered out there.

Task Force Leader: Captain CrazyCarl

Objective 2: Legacy Gaming Platform Coordinator Directive

Teamwork is a must, troops, and it’s something that we need to work on. Get out there with a wingmate or two and make sure to watch each other’s backs when things start to get messy!

Objective instructions: Play a multiplayer mission on any Legacy platform (via GameRanger, Voobly, etc.). Submit a match with appropriate screenshots. Each player must link to the match via the ITOD mission in order to receive credit.

Point distribution: 3 points to each player as long as multiple RS players were involved in the same mission.

Platform Coordinator: Captain CrazyCarl

Objective 3: X-wing Miniatures

We’ve got an opportunity to strike an Imperial resupply convoy, but it’s not going to be easy. The Imperials seeded the area with jamming pods, so it’s going to be more difficult than normal, but it has to be done. Good luck, pilots!

Objective instructions: Download the vassal file and read the ROE. When reporting the match with the normal reporter, make sure to indicate who was which side and the outcome, as well as if the jammers were destroyed or not, and link that report when reporting for the ITOD.

Point distribution: 1 point for playing, 1 point for RS victory, 1 point for an RS victory WITHOUT destroying any jamming pods

Task Force Leader: Fleet Admiral Danny "David Lee Japan" Qatar

Objective 4: Star Wars The Old Republic

Commando ground operations must continue to remain active in throughout the Aurora Sector if we are to have any hope of maintaining a foothold against this Imperial incursion. There are dangerous assignments that must be undertaken, but they are vital to our strategic survival in the sector.

Objective instructions: Complete two flashpoints on any difficulty level (within a reasonable level range for your characters level) and take a screenshot of the mission complete and include it in your report. Take a SS of you donating to the guild bank and post it to the forums.

Point distribution: 1 point each for two Flashpoints (normal difficulty or higher) and 1 point for 100K credits to the guild bank.

Task Force Leader: Brigadier General Ray Djo

Objective 5: Minecraft

After small-scale battles with the crafty Imperials on the planet Exren, the RS is aware of a full-scale attack against only days away. The RS will need to push back and demonstrate the Republic’s resolve. With this knowledge the RS must plan for every eventuality, and be more cunning with their guerilla tactics and their protection of their base.

Objective instructions: 1) Defeat the Wither or conquer an ocean monument. 2) Construct an underwater base with the knowledge that the RS could possibly have to go into hiding following a defeat. This base must have a glass ceiling (force field) of at least 64 panes and a rail link, preferably hidden. 3) Build a large detention and interrogation center ready for Imperial prisoners of war. This must also be underwater.

Point distribution: 1 point per objective

Task Force Leader: Major General Kimiao Quinal

Objective 6: Commander

Our resources are stretched thin as we struggle to keep our various forward operating bases and firebases operational. As such, commanders of said bases are being encouraged to share supplies and personnel to reduce the strain on our logistical systems.

Objective instructions: Donate troops to support your squad! The command staff will use the squad members screen to determine number of troops donated from the beginning of the session to the end.

Point distribution:
1 point for 10 troops donated
2 points for 25 troops donated
3 points for 50 troops donated

Task Force Leader: Rear Admiral Gavin Cantorph Kravis

Objective 7: Modern Gaming Platform Coordinator Directive

We find it a little too quiet in the Aurora and Subterrel Sectors, and our traditional methods of gathering intelligence haven’t turned up any news. Take a few hand-picked officers and see what you can find, looking for avenues we haven’t explored yet.

Objective instructions: Submit links to multiplayer matches for modern games which have not yet had ITOD support (i.e. any game except Commander, Minecraft, Minis, Pazaak, TOR, and World of Tanks). The matches must have taken place with at least one other RSer. Limit 1 point per game, up to 3 games. For assistance with ideas, RSers have recently reported on Civilization V (most popular), ARK: Survival Evolved, Payday 2, and World of Warships. “Modern” can include games from the past few years. Your ITOD report should include a link to the specific multiplayer report page (match ID #3xxx in the URL).

Point distribution: 1 point per game, up to 3 games

Platform Coordinator: Fleet Admiral Licah Fox

Objective 8: d6 RPG

After a climactic battle that destroyed most of the ABG fleet, the remainder of Sentinel Company has been relocated to the new ABG flagship, the Phoenix. Reinforced with new members, Sentinel has been dispatched to the surface of Bethlamore to deal with what seems like some local criminal groups. Unbeknownst to them, a much greater power is at work here, and it’ll be up to them to stop it.

Objective instructions: Participate in the new Sentinel Introduction Campaign - ‘A Fresh Start’.

Point distribution: 1 point for participating in any sim. 1 point for participating in all sims in that campaign for the session. 1 point for the group succeeding in the objective of the campaign.

Task Force Leader: Fleet Admiral Michael Raven

Objective 9: Fiction

Objective instructions: Finish an operation that your character has participated in. It can either end in success or failure, but the operation must actually be completed.

Point distribution: 1 pt Completion, 1 pt over 2500 words, 1 pt with another RSer (either collab, or you writing them in)

Task Force Leader: Fleet Admiral Michael Raven

Objective 10: Trivia

We are continuing the effort to piece together our damaged databanks as well as determining what information was stolen by the enemy when they attacked Aurora.

Objective instructions: Participate in Trivia!

Mission reporter link: Watch for RS news posts/announcements!

Point distribution: Points awarded based on correct answers. Up to 1 wrong per quiz = 3, 3 wrong = 2, participating = 1.

Task Force Leader: Fleet Admiral Michael Raven

Objective 11: Immersion Platform Coordinator Directive

If there’s one thing that Republic personnel are known for, its diversification. They’re pilots, techs, and ground troops all in one! As such, this PCD is all about diversification.

Objective instructions: Do diverse activities! Update an RS wiki page of substance (Either your own character page or another page). Report on a game that you have not reported on before. Earn at least 1 ABG merit point.

Point distribution: 1 Point - Update a wiki page of substance + provide link .1 Point - Report on a game you have not reported on before. 1 Point - Earn at least 1 ABG Merit point.

Platform Coordinator: Fleet Admiral Michael Raven

Objective 12: Fleet Commander’s Directive

Even the smallest groups can have an impact on the direction of this conflict, and we are looking for talented individuals and groups, who may be operating outside of our chain of command to strike the enemy where it hurts and where they least expect it.

Objective instructions: In honor of the re-release/major patch of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: The Sith Lords…. beat it! Play either the original, modded, or updated versions of the game and submit a screenshot of your gameplay. You may submit up to three screenshots using the Generic Reporter (15 minutes duration) of your KOTORII gameplay. When you have gotten as far as you intend to during this operation, submit your best screenshot to the ITOD mission.

Point distribution:
1 Point: Your best screenshot includes your character aboard The Ebon Hawk.
2 Points: Your best screenshot includes your character sheet having chosen an advanced Jedi Form (after level 15).
3 points: Your best screenshot includes your character standing before the last boss.

Fleet Commander: Admiral Cyrel Vandroth
