Starting the Scrambler
You may start or stop the scrambler if you are a manager in the channel. To start the scrambler, you must tell MrBot to begin by using !scrambler. The form below will provide you with an easy way to start it.
The below form will not start the scrambler — it merely displays the command that will start it.
Hosting-related bot commands
- !scrambler channel: Begins and ends games. To begin games, use the format: !scrambler channel topic-id number-of-winners time-limit-in-seconds, as in the command that you can generate above. To end games, use !scrambler channel off. Games will end automatically when every phrase in the topic has been used.
- !pause channel: Use this to pause games without ending them. The same command is used to pause and unpause.
- !skip: The bot will state the answer for the current phrase and proceed to the next one.
Running a successful game
Skipping phrases: Generally, !skip is used to skip an unusually long or difficult phrase, or when there are more possible winners than people playing. However, skipping is not generally recommended; for unusual phrases, one can either !hint 200 (an arbitrarily large number, thus likely revealing the whole phrase) and copy and paste the answer, or modify the topic itself to change the unusual phrase. If there are too many winners, (placeholder until settings can be changed midgame).
Choosing topics: Know your players and choose a topic that they will enjoy. It's often good to ask them which topic they want to play.
