RID - Before end of month notice (July) & Update(26th July)
Hello all! ":)
I have returned to the RID base a few days ago and I noticed that it is almost empty, so I wanted to remind you that we need you to report the (single player) ITOD mission until the end of July.
(Save the mission file to your EaW/GameData/Data/CustomMaps folder. In game choose single player - skirmish - custom maps and you are ready to go. Set the AI difficulty as you wish. Be sure to take a screen shot of the destroyed pirate base. Please make the screenshot a .jpg or .gif file and send it to me.)
A few of you have already reported the mission, and I am pleased to see that we already have two battle reports on the RID forum. Have we also other fictional writers among our ranks? Let us know by reporting a battle report.
This ITOD mission and future ITOD missions will be available for download on rs.org as soon as possible, but for now email me if you should need the mission.
*New members
Welcome to Xque to the Shochu Task Force under the command of the new Shochu CO GEN Harley Quinn. Xque has been awarded the Master Cadet w/H for completing all the necessary requirements for graduation.
I'd like also welcome CDT Kru Gunzer to the Usagi academy. Drinks are on the new ones if you should meet them. Check the Xfire thread on the RID forum for the Xfire names of both.
*Medals
The first RID medals have been awarded for completement of the requirements necessary to get the graduation award. The Master Cadet with Honours goes to the following RID members:
SA Super
GEN Harley Quinn
LGN Michael Raven
MAJ Luren "DaLe" Ketan
Remeber that all main task force members(Shochu, Ninjin and Chisha) need to get a graduation medal to be kept in their task force, otherwise they will be relocated to the RID academy for the time being.
In case you don't know these requirements, here is a reminder:
- To achieve "Cadet with Honors" you have to report the SP mission.
- To achieve "Master Cadet with Honors" you have to report the SP mission and at least one MP match you did with a fellow RID member. Those of you who aren't able to do MP may report the SP mission and a battle report/narrative to achieve this graduation medal.
*Internal MP event
As may already have noticed the RID has an 1v1 ladder. Go to http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1650 to learn how to sign up and get going. There have been already a few matches played.
*Inter-clan event - InvasionWeek1
The InvasionWeek1 is over. We had two participating players who managed to get the RS rated and ranged 4th place of 5 with 12 matches in total. Those two players were LGN Raven and me. Each of us played 6 matches, Raven won 6 matches and placed 5th and I won 4 matches and placed 8th.
We did our matches in the last two days of the event and Raven and me played four 2v2s together. I hope we'll be able to kick more butt in the next event. :D Great job, Raven.
*Merits
Merits will be awarded as follows:
- 1 merit for one MP match in any RID internal or interclan event, 1 extra merit for a win
- 3 merits for reporting a succesful RID single player mission (ITOD)
- 3 merits for writing a battle report/narrative for the RID ITOD mission
- 5 merits for playing the first 3 matches in the offical 1/1 land or space ladder
Check the RID merit system on the RID forum for more info. More ways how to achieve merits will be added, but this will do for now.
RID merits for the interclan IW1 are - Raven 12 merits, DaLe 10 merits (the same amount goes also for RS merits)
RID merits for the RID 1v1 ladder will be added each time when the ladder will be reset.
RID merits for the ITOD mission and battle reports will be awarded after the ITOD deadline.

*Reminder - ITOD 001
First of all I would like to remind you that the singleplayer ITOD 001 mission is due 31st July. That's already on this Monday! If you don't want to be reassigned to the RID Academy, you should report me the mission or report at least one multiplayer match you did. Read my last email to learn how to install the ITOD mission.
In case you shouldn't have the mission for some reason, you can always email me and I will send you the mission.
If you are not able to play EaW for some reason at the time being, send me an email and let me know that you are at least alive.
*InvasionWeek II
IW1 finished not a week ago and we already know the date of the IW2. The event is from 11th to 18th August. IW is land battles only and to be able to participate you need to be signed up for the RS EaW roster on www.eclipticalrealms.com . More info can be found in the appropriate thread.
*Medals
For his great particpation in IW1 LGN Michael Raven has been awarded the Valiance Combat Citation. Congratulations!
The Master Cadet with Honours has been awarded to the following officers who reported ITOD 001, wrote a battle report and/or did at least one MP match:

*Task Force Shochu
The newest addition to the RID roster, the TF Shochu has an XO now. LGN Michael Raven has been assigned as Shochu XO under the command of Shochu CO GEN Harley Quinn. I am glad that Task Force Shochu is operational now and that they are ready to rock n roll. Concerning future inter-TF events, it seems that TF Ninjin and TF Chisha will have a hard time. Or won't they?
*#RID channel
The IRC channel #RID is unoffically opened. Feel free to join the channel for a chat, to get a MP match and/or if you should need help.
