ITOD: PBF 204: Race to Death
Briefing
- The Imperials whom we had hoped to get on retreat after the multiple succesful hits on their shipyards around the Cluster are everything but that. In fact they have now started an operation which might put US on the retreat!
The Imps have captured a computer-box from us with important information --- the locations of many of our vital and nearly defenseless supply caches in the Cluster.
Fortunately the information in the box is heavily encoded and decoding it will take alot of time. However the box is inside an Imperial Corvette that is escaping in hopes of getting it to a secret research station somewhere, where it could be examined and decoded without the distress caused by pursuing Rebel forces.
The Imperial Corvette is passing through the Dar'Telis system, and since we have no assault forces currently within range, we are sending X-wing PBF out there onboard a CRV of our own with a specially modified, extremely fast hyperdrive, to the location to catch the Corvette and destroy it..
Once Corvette Hope has hypered into the area and dropped you off, you are to start for the Imperial Corvette, take out its escorts as quickly as possible and then proceed to destroy the ship itself that contains the data, extremely valuable to the Empire.
Watch out for Imperial reinforcements -- we don't know what they have to throw at us, so it may be anything!
