ITOD: OpLan206: Detect and Destroy
Briefing
- Some time ago, [Alliance Intelligence] received a tip from the [Barabels]. This alien race has been known to work with the Empire. Due to this, and the fact that has been no other reports to add credence to the Barabel claim, the information was not acted upon... until now.
The Barabels pointed us to a site where they claimed the Empire was secretly dealing with a group the Barabels would only describe as ["pirates"]. It is apparently a combination of a repair yard, resupply depot, and transit point. It also serves as a base of operations for several small to medium ships, including our friend the frigate [Jackknife].
Corroboration of the Barabel information came when a customs platform was raided by Alliance forces six days ago. Amongst the expected arrivals was a [convoy] of Imperial [freighters] and [corvettes]. The departure point was unlisted, but the arrival vector is on a line with the alleged ["pirate supply base"]. We have worked out the approximate time this convoy would depart the base, and are attacking before that time.
The [TIE Academy] and some Corvettes will lead the way, attacking the departing convoy. This should draw all Imperial starfighters away from the main part of the base. The TIE Academy force will jump out as soon you enter, although remaining TIE Academy starfighters may remain to assist you. You will enter with a group of [4 Corvettes]. A-Wing support may also arrive to assist if necessary.
Your first goal is to [scan all large neutral craft]: containers, corvettes, freighters etc. We must know who these "pirate" allies of the Empire really are: these Imperial operations in the remaining non-aligned areas of the Outer Rim are troubling High Command. Your second goal is to protect the corvettes on their sweep. While destroying as much of the site as possible is desirable, it is [not] your direct responsibility.
