Ronnis and Selaris Systems Secured
Selaris --- We have received supremely excellent news from our forces in the Subterrel Sector. As of today, the Subterrel Strike Force has secured two more systems from Imperial hands. Reports from Subterrel Command indicate that two separate undercover operations --- the details of which will remain classified --- culminated today with the capitulation of the Ronnis and Selaris systems.
The two previously-Imperial held systems are important for different reasons. The Ronnis system, which is far from contiguous RS territory, presents a logistical and tactical nightmare for potential defensive operations. Rumour has it that the lightly defended world is being stripped of all goods and equipment and will be abandoned. The Selaris system, however, is a key strategic location in the region, and is even more useful to the Subterrel Strike Force due to the successful capture of the orbital repair yards and shipyards.
Admiral Raven was unavailable to be contacted for comment. While we have received official confirming that the Ronnis system will be abandoned after the securing of all liberated war matériel, rumours suggest that the Selaris system will become the main RS holding in the Subterrel Sector, with forward operations being staged from the location.
The Subterrel Strike Force has been operating in the Subterrel Sector for two months now, and in that time has hampered Imperial efforts and secured six systems, while yielding only one. At the present time the Republic Shield controls approximately forty percent of the sector.
While it is hoped and expected that the Subterrel Strike Force will return triumphant from the Subterrel Sector by Liberation Day, there remain some concerns as to the continued viability of the distant conflict in comparison to the increasing lawlessness and deterioration of order in the Cadrel Expanse and surrounding territories.
