Bpfassh --- We have received reports of a large number of simultaneous Imperial strike operations that have taken place further up the Rimma Trade Route in the Sluis Sector.

Numerous Imperial strike groups consisting primarily of Star Destroyers have performed hit-and-fade raids on many systems in the Sluis Sector. It is not known why these particular systems, such as Bpfassh, were targeted, due to their relatively low value to the New Republic war effort.

The Sluis Van shipyards, located less than thirty lightyears away from the closest system hit, would seem to be a much more likely military target for the Imperial forces.

However military commentators believe that the level of defences at Sluis Van make it an unlikely target, and that perhaps the targeted systems in the Sluis Sector were chosen more out of spite. There have been immediate political ramifications of the attacks, with many worlds in the Sluis Sector and nearby regions feeling less secure about the protection offered by the New Republic.

Reports that each system was struck by approximately four Imperial-class Star Destroyers each are yet to be confirmed. The use of major warships such as Star Destroyers for mobile hit-and-fade attacks is highly unorthodox as far as Standard Imperial Procedure goes, leading many analysts to see this as support for the notion that the remnants of the Empire have found a new commander.

The current climate of fear in the Sluis Sector has forced Coruscant to address citizen's concerns, and investigations will be launched into the attacks. Initial estimates of casualties and damage done is indeterminate, with results expected to be yielded as the New Republic perform their investigations in the region.
