Imperial Minos Task Force Defeated
Laridia --- It is with great pleasure we are able to announce the complete victory of RS forces stationed in the Minos Cluster.
The Minos Investigation Group has victoriously concluded its four-month-long military campaign in the Minos Cluster, with the final defeat of the resident Imperial forces in the Ynia Cluster.
At the beginning of the year Admiral Hawkins and the Minos Investigation Group were sent to the Minos Cluster to investigate reports of increased levels of piratical activity against civilian shipping, and of suspected ties to Imperial forces that might be lurking in the region.
This resulted in a drawn-out conflict against Imperial forces and their undercover front as the long-defunct pirate group known as the White Guard. The MIG's forces, including the famed Patriot Starfighter Group, battled with the cowardly Imperial forces throughout the star cluster while fending off numerous Imperial espionage attempts.
The ultimate triumph occurred yesterday when retreating Imperial forces committed the grave error of withdrawing from the Minos Cluster into the nearby Ynia Cluster. The Ynia Cluster was once an Imperially-controlled region, but Republic Shield forces assisted the guerilla forces of the Independent Ynian Fleet in ousting the Imperial presence approximate a year and a half ago.
The Imperial forces successfully managed to box themselves in between the might of the Admiral Hawkin's Minos Investigation Group and General Porta's Independent Ynian Fleet in the Laridia system on the Ynia Cluster border. The battle was a complete rout, with Imperial forces crumbling under the combined Ynian and RS attacks.
While we are yet to receive official confirmation, it is expected that with the recent Imperial threat in the Minos Cluster extinguished, that Admiral Hawkins and the Minos Investigation Force will be summoned back to the Greeop Sector, to be merged with the Fleet Commander's Greeop Defence Force, reinforcing the GDF's strength and helping to restore peace and order to what has become in the past months since the Blerthmore disaster a region of increased lawlessness, piracy and banditry.
