New Republic Investigators Assaulted
Bpfassh -- In the wake of the recent string of Imperial strikes within the Sluis Sector, we have learned a delegation sent to investigate the attacks have themselves narrowly avoided disaster.
Shortly after receiving word of the Imperial incursion, New Republic officials quickly dispatched an envoy of diplomatic representatives to the planet Bpfassh to both aid in recovery efforts and investigate the motives behind the sudden and violent Imperial assault.
The delegation, including such notable figures as Senator Leia Organa Solo, her husband General Solo and escorted by members of the famed Rogue Squadron were touring the planet's stricken surface when they were ambushed by a small party of humanoids.
Following a brief but fierce firefight, the hostile force was reportedly driven off, though more than a few questions have been raised in their wake.
Early reports suggest these grey-skinned assailants match descriptions of those responsible for the incident on Bimmisaari last month. A fact made altogether more telling due to the similarity of the attacks.
New Republic officials are publicly downplaying the idea of any connection between the two incidents as mere coincidence, though unnamed sources have confided that a sense of foreboding has fallen over some in key elements of command.
Certainly the fact that both attacks have centred around the New Republic Senator for Alderaan makes a connection between the similar incidents extraordinarily remarkable.
