Coruscant --- All across New Republic space, rumours of an Imperial Grand Admiral leading the remnants of the Empire have been spreading like wildfire as the Imperial forces, once pushed to the brink, have been steadily regaining ground in the past months. There is increasing pressure on the authorities to release any and all information they have on the new Imperial commander, who has been rumoured to exist since before the attack on Obroa-skai reported by the Mediator News Service in 44:3.

The New Republic Senate and Fleet Office, however, have been firmly adamant that such rumours are utterly false and lacking in evidence. A number of parties have denounced the rumours as pro-Ackbar propaganda spread to muster up support for the disgraced hero of the Rebellion after his arrest for treason a week ago. But the repeated denials from officials have only fuelled the spread of the news throughout the New Republic, even to the remotest Outer Rim worlds. Ultimately, reports that war hero General Solo himself attempted to warn the New Republic Ruling Council about the matter and gone unheeded has been the final straw for many citizens in the Republic.

"They should release all they know about this new Imperial leader. We need to know if it means war is going to revisit the Core!" a Coruscant citizen was reported stating.

"Why are they covering up the truth? Better that we know now rather than when we're lasering ore out on some asteroid in chains!" stated another.

There are comments in support of the Ruling Council and Head of State Mon Mothma, but these are increasingly in the minority, as dissent and fear run rife throughout the worlds of the New Republic at news that the Galactic Civil War could be heating up again, rather than moving to the long-predicted Imperial defeat any time soon.

There have been no significant increases in violent activity as the rumours persist, but unless the Ruling Council reveal what they know soon, the disgruntled citizenry may rise up against them.
