Greetings, members of the Rebel Squadrons. ":)

Leading off news this week, High Command has voted unanimously to create a policy regarding returning members. The policy was added as section 4.8 of the bylaws, and is reprinted here for your convenience:

"4.8.0 Returning Member Policy
4.8.1 Any member returning to the Rebel Squadrons after previous retirement shall, if retired in good standing, return with the rank held when earlier retired. All medals awarded during one's previous tenure in the club will also still be honored. If rejoining a group that one has previous experience in, one may join without being required to run through the Academy Undergrad for that game. If one wishes to join a group in which one has no previous experience in, one must go through the Academy Undergrad for that group prior to joining."

In other news, discussions about the topics mentioned in last weeks NewsFlash continue to be on the board. These topics include the question of NPC's in the RS and on the roster, as well as the issue of Jedi in the RS. Another topic, about the Primary Fleet rule and how it effects promotions, has been brought up and is also on the table.

Also, in important news that isn't quite High Command related, the Fleet Commander is happy to announce the update of pages in the "general info" section of the domain. The Mission Statement at http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/general.shtml has been updated. Further, the current FC and former FC Castor Efrata-Landis have created a page that describes the fictional origins of the Rebel Squadrons. This page is a must-read for writers who wish to make their stories coincide with the origin and intent of the RS as a New Republic battlefleet. The new page can be viewed at http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/general_fictional.shtml

That's it for this week. Thanks for reading!
