Greetings Members of the RS. ":)

The pleasant days of June are upon us, and the shining sun beckons to us with its splendor. With summer comes an issue like a two-edged sword, one that our club has experienced over and over again. On the one hand, summer releases the great majority of our membership body from the clutches of school and academia. This group of people now has more time than ever to devote to their RS job and having fun online. The other side, of course, is that for some funny reason, people always seem to choose going to the beach, going camping, or hanging out with friends over doing RS work! Trust me, I was just as shocked as you are when I discovered this.

So we have a choice, everyone. We can do the same amount of work as we do regularly, which for some of us is the only option, or we can see if we can do more. Like a relationship, doing more is a two-way street. It takes both the leaders and the membership at large to blaze the path, if only one wants to surge ahead the attempt will ultimately fail. That's the question before you all now.

::Steps out of the philosophy corner:: At any rate, I don't mean to lecture. Just thought I'd share something that's on my mind. Moving on, we have a lot of news today:

From the Internet Officer, we have a virtual plethora of new goodies. Okay, well, three. General Shikkie Kaaran would like to direct your attention first of all to the new web-based Address Book, which is linked up to the database and thus has all sorts of treats and stuff. Check it out at Secondly, the RS now has an ITOD Mission Database, which is for holding the missions themselves. You can view and submit at Finally, the ITOD Scores Database has been nicely redone, point yourself too

In addition to this news, we have been receiving submissions for new artwork on the RS main page. If you visit the page multiple times, you will see one of these pics each time. The IO was kind enough to write some code that randomly selects one of the pics, and our RS members have been nice enough to contribute. So far pics from Ryan Deean, Sig Pillar, Elad Avron, and RSI have all been added to the list. If you still want to get in a submission, let the FC know! Thanks to all who have contributed so far!

For those of you who don't know, the Outer Rim War is nearing completion. Only two more evenings of competition remain. The event has been a major success, at least in my opinion, and I want to take this opportunity to encourage you all to attend the final two nights and get in the flying and fighting while you can! I'd also like to announce that the RS as well as most other clubs involved have expressed interest in another competition along the same lines. A break will be taken first while the new format is worked on, and we hope to announce a new and exciting competition later in the summer!

In conclusion, I'd just like to remind you all that your summer is your's to spend. I certainly don't plan to spend every waking moment of mine working on RS related issues. (To those of you who were just crushed by those words, sorry!) Have fun, that's what we're all out to do anyway. But I do rather fervently hope that some of that fun will coincide with the RS and continue to make our club grow stronger.

Reach for the stars, and you will find that you can often catch them!
