*** On Board the Calamari Cruiser -Valor- ***
      Coruscant Standard Time: 1509 HRS
      Shipboard Relative Time: 2309 HRS

Lt. Col. Slyder McGrath walked into the cafeteria and located the majority of Red Squadron sitting in the corner. In all actuality, they were the only ones here, besides a few mechanics...most of the fleet was asleep right now. Kerensky's head snaked up from the group, and gave a nod to Slyder to come over and join them. So, the PBF CO did as he had planned, grabbed a horibly tasting cup of caf, and proceeded to head over to his squad mates.
"Hey mate, how's things goin' in the 'hot-seat'?" From Lightning.
"Oh, same old i guess, procedure and politics, you know how that goes."
A slight bit of silence elapsed, and Slyder took his moment to bring the boys some good news.
"Look, I'm pretty bummed too. The -Rebel Dream- was like a home away from home to me for the past two years. I'm sorry it had to be that ship on that run, we...intelligence knew that you would more then likely get found out, so we sent the toughest squad in. I thought we'd make it to assist you faster though...I'm sorry for that fellas. However, the information you have provided for us should change things. Meet the rest of the fleet in the breifing room 10 at 0600 HRS and i'll tell you more."

*** On Board the Nebulon B Frigate -Black Rain II- ***
      Coruscant Standard Time: 2311 HRS
      Shipboard Relatvie Time: 0545 HRS

Capatin Moroe stood on the bridge of his new ship. The metal floors were shinny enough he could se his reflection, and they still had an oily smell. The duraplast windows were clear as day, and the engines had a soft hum. The captain took in a deep breath, throughly pleased with himself.
"Sir, our orders are to safeguard this juncture point. With the rebel patroll recently, we cna be sure an attack will come." from the enlist-rating at coms.
The captain let out an audible sigh, he had been hoping to see combat.
"Very well, lock things own, and be ready for anything."

*** On Board The calamari Cruiser -McGrath- ***
      Coruscant Stanard Time: 2200 HRS
      Shipboard Relative Time: 0600 HRS

The breifing room had filled with capacity, everyone was eager for a new mission to strike back at the imperials for their last assult.
"Greetings pilots. With the information prvoided to us by the efforts of the crew of the Rebel Dream, we have found a heavy juncture point for a main shipping lane of Kunder. That is our target. However, we are not merly conducting an assault. The loss of several support ships over the past tour, as well as the more recent loss of the Dream requests that we find some new form of support. Stationed at this juncture is the newly completed Black Rain II, Nebulon-B class. Our main goal is to capture this ship. Destruction of all other imperial ships is secondary. Red Squadron will be flying in 4 Awings, and we will be sending in a squad of 6 Ywings. Once disabled, the Corvete Onigama and a transport will dock to capture our new ship...any questions?"

-----Patriot Battle Fleet News-----

1) Fleetwide State Of Emergency
The Patriot Battle Fleet CO has decreed that new Cadets will NOT be able to
choose a squadron for the next few weeks, but he will place them himself,
for the best of the fleet. As soon as squadrons have evened out a bit,
transfers will be possible, but until then, he will be concentrating on
evening out the playing field. The only exception to this rule are real
life friends of other pilots who will be allowed to join squadrons of their
friends if they wish to do so.

2) Scoring System Change
PBF 309 will impliment this new scoring system, so heads up on your final results, scores will more then likely rise.

3) New FC
For those who ahve not heard yet, there is a new FC...Congradulations go out to Rahj Tharen, er FC Rahj.

You have the honor of adding the MRM medal to your signoff: [*MRM*]

The current Patriot Battle Fleet mission is:

The deadline for the current mission is:

October 7th, 11:59 PM EST

You can download the current mission at:

Send reports with pilot files attached to:
& (to be safe), and
Plus your own squadron

The rules for flying the mission are:

1) You may run this mission as many times as you like but you MUST
get the MISSION COMPLETE message and have a valid *.plt file in order
to be eligible for the PBF Medal of victory. In addition, any score
not accompanied by a pilot file for verification will NOT be counted
by the PBF Command Staff.

2) Run the mission as "defect.xwi" ( this will place it as X-Wing
X-Wing TOD 1 Mission 1 ) so that your stats will be recorded in your
*.plt file.

3) Make a new pilot file to run the mission. If you fail the mission
and wish to run it again make sure to use a new pilot file instead of
re-running it with the same pilot. Any pilot file found to be
"unclean" will result in the score NOT being counted by the PBF
Command Staff.

4) Destroying "Friendly" craft to pad ones stats is strictly
prohibited. *.plt files containing "Rebel" craft kills will be
considered invalid.

5) You should also include a written report with your score laser/ion
shots and hits, missile shots and hits and kill totals in the email.

6) Pilot files will be manually calculated using the official
LucasArts scoring chart for X-wing. Anyone interested in obtaining a
copy of this chart, can email me to do so.

7) No individual scores will be changed after the deadline! If a
report is submitted that is never received at the report address
given above, it will not be added after the deadline. Neither will
the PBF CO accept a late pilot file. The only thing that can be
changed afterwards are errors made by the Command Staff.

8) There is a Fleet Wide competition based on this tour. Every pilot
who sends in a valid report will receive 1 merit point. The pilot
with the best overall score for the mission will be awarded a special
PBF Top Gun medal, along with receiving a 5 point bonus in the PBF
Merit System. In addition participating members from the squadron
with the best overall combined score will receive 5 bonus merit
points in addition to "Top Squadron" bragging rights. Also, the pilot
with the top score for each squadron (excluding the winning squadron,
and Top Gun) will receive 3 bonus PBF merit points. The reporting
members of the Squadrons on 2nd and 3rd places will get 2 bonus PBF
merit points.

*Note* In the even that the Top Pilot for the mission also happens to
be in the Top Squadron he may only receive the 5 bonus Credits for
one or the other. Same thing applies to each squadron Top Pilot and
2nd and 3rd place squadrons.

9) Mail problems including undelivered mail and corrupted *.plt files
are not the responsibility of the PBF command staff. If your *.pltfile
becomes corrupted and you do not include a written accounting,
then your score will be counted as "0".

10) If a pilot retires from the PBF at any time during the course of
an active mission after having submitted a report, his report will no
longer count for his former squadron. He will still receive credit
for running the mission, but will be listed as "Inactive".

11) If a pilot transfers from one PBF squadron to another (such as
attaining a squadron CO position) during the course of an active
mission after having submitted a report, his report will will now
count towards the newfound squadron.
