Note: I know last weeks NL never came out...problem is, I am not sure why. I sent it out monday night, and it never went through...to any addresses....first time I've ever seen E-mail get lost....odd.

***On Board Calamari Cruiser -Valor-***

Lt. Colnel McGrath sat at his desk situated in the middle of his office aboard the lustrious cruiser. The Balmorrian Shigek wood had a very dark shine to it. It even still had some of it's woody smell left. That did little to hide the monstorus piles of paperwork stacked on top of it. A slight beep came up from the holo imager. Slyder reached over and keyed the unit.
"McGrath here." he said.
Some enlist rating was at the other end, most likely a comms officer.
"Personal call sir. Orignating from Chandrilla."
His parents? Family...who would be calling him now? Slyder paused for a moment, thinking to himself.
"Uh...should I say you are busy sir?" the enlist asked.
"No...no, I'll take it."
With that, the image of the young man swiched to an extremely pleasent sight. A young female, a few years younger then the Colnel appeared. Short purplish-brown haird was tucked, and looped behind her ears. Hazel eyes that had the shine of a galaxy in them graced her face. The woman was beautiful. An athletic build, but not too ferocious. She wore a small tank-top, mid-drif, showing a sparkling gem just above her belly-button. Her pants were dirty, and she had a playfull look to her.
"Sabrina..." Slyder said aloud with a laugh. "I didn't expect to hear from you untill later this evening.
The woman's face scowled, but more exajerated then not.
"And this is a bad thing?" she asked, with a half smile creeping on her face.
Slyder couldn't hold the urge to laugh. "Of course not, you know it is allways a pleasure to hear from you. Are you still planning on comming to join me for dinner tommorow night?" he asked, a slight shade of 'crimson' approaching his cheeks. No women had EVER made him do that.
"That is precisely what I was calling you about."

1) Leave
Next week, I will be going on a two week leave. I have notified Fion and Spokes of this...everyone please not this as well. I will be gone for a couple weeks, nothing too pressing should happen during that time, and I will be able to check email during that time, so if you need me, feel free to drop a line.

2) New Silver CO
Well, as of this moment, there is a new Silver CO. And unfortunately, this is the first he is hearing of it. It has been another pressing week, and I have been unable to get to my email. So, Captain Michael Donos will be moving up into the CO spot from his previous XO spot. He will undergo a 2 week trial period. At that point in time, if he has proved a good leader, he will be awarded the spot permanently. Drinks are on the captain.

3) New PBF IO needed.
Our PBF IO, Kerian Halchyon has gone missing and has been for almost a
month. We need an IO to update the PBF site, as well as keep the wing and squad
IOs in order updating their work, if interested please send in an application.

4) Fleetwide State Of Emergency
I want to take this bit of time to explain the situation. Over the past couple weeks, we ahve lost many pilots due to resignations, or AWOL markings. I will be the first to admit it has been a few. It is good to see that the COs are starting to do things right, and not just keeping dead bodies in the seats. The fleet wide SoE will continue. There will be no requesting for placement untill things are evend out a bit. The only exception is for returning members. We need toe ven out the playing feild, and I am dooing everything I can with all available cadets. We will be looking into other options shortly.

5) Scoring System changes
Now, we come to the matter of the new scoring system. The members of the
PBF CO's list have been informed of this for over a month now, and their
input has been considered in finalizing the new scoring system. If you
haven't seen a list yet, here it is.

7) New MrM point policy
After discussing this with my CS, we have come to a unanimous descision that
good naratives should be awarded as much as good flying. Therefore, all MrM
winners starting now will receive a 5 point bonus to their points at the end
of the mission. This will be treated like the MoV winner, they cannot
accumulate more then 5 points per mission. To make things fair, the MrM
winner(s)
and the MoV winner will not be one and the same...

The rules for flying the mission are:


1) You may run this mission as many times as you like but you MUST
get the MISSION COMPLETE message and have a valid *.plt file in order
to be eligible for the PBF Medal of victory. In addition, any score
not accompanied by a pilot file for verification will NOT be counted
by the PBF Command Staff.


2) Run the mission as "defect.xwi" ( this will place it as X-Wing
X-Wing TOD 1 Mission 1 ) so that your stats will be recorded in your
*.plt file.


3) Make a new pilot file to run the mission. If you fail the mission
and wish to run it again make sure to use a new pilot file instead of
re-running it with the same pilot. Any pilot file found to be
"unclean" will result in the score NOT being counted by the PBF
Command Staff.


4) Destroying "Friendly" craft to pad ones stats is strictly
prohibited. *.plt files containing "Rebel" craft kills will be
considered invalid.


5) You should also include a written report with your score laser/ion
shots and hits, missile shots and hits and kill totals in the email.


6) Pilot files will be manually calculated using the official
LucasArts scoring chart for X-wing. Anyone interested in obtaining a
copy of this chart, can email me to do so.


7) No individual scores will be changed after the deadline! If a
report is submitted that is never received at the report address
given above, it will not be added after the deadline. Neither will
the PBF CO accept a late pilot file. The only thing that can be
changed afterwards are errors made by the Command Staff.


8) There is a Fleet Wide competition based on this tour. Every pilot
who sends in a valid report will receive 1 merit point. The pilot
with the best overall score for the mission will be awarded a special
PBF Top Gun medal, along with receiving a 5 point bonus in the PBF
Merit System. In addition participating members from the squadron
with the best overall combined score will receive 5 bonus merit
points in addition to "Top Squadron" bragging rights. Also, the pilot
with the top score for each squadron (excluding the winning squadron,
and Top Gun) will receive 3 bonus PBF merit points. The reporting
members of the Squadrons on 2nd and 3rd places will get 2 bonus PBF
merit points.


*Note* In the even that the Top Pilot for the mission also happens to
be in the Top Squadron he may only receive the 5 bonus Credits for
one or the other. Same thing applies to each squadron Top Pilot and
2nd and 3rd place squadrons.


9) Mail problems including undelivered mail and corrupted *.plt files
are not the responsibility of the PBF command staff. If your *.pltfile
becomes corrupted and you do not include a written accounting,
then your score will be counted as "0".


10) If a pilot retires from the PBF at any time during the course of
an active mission after having submitted a report, his report will no
longer count for his former squadron. He will still receive credit
for running the mission, but will be listed as "Inactive".


11) If a pilot transfers from one PBF squadron to another (such as
attaining a squadron CO position) during the course of an active
mission after having submitted a report, his report will will now
count towards the newfound squadron.
