Lt. Colonel Tyrell "Spokes" Borran guided the battered X-Wing into the
Hangar Bay of the CRS Windstorm having just returned from a flyby of
the recently captured Frigate.

"Welcome aboard Colonel." The Crew Chief said as Spokes was
lifted out of the fighter. "Captain Moori is expecting you."

"Thanks Chief." Spokes waved a hand towards the old X-Wing and asked,
"Can you give this thing a once-over while I'm with the Captain? We took a
couple of hits and the S-Foils are making a strange sound. I had Squelch
record it, so he should be of some help."

"No problem. We'll get right to it."

Spokes entered Captain Moori's office and waited while he finished a
conversation with his Tactical Officer. He finished quickly and reached
inside his desk for the Corellian whiskey that he knew Spokes preferred.
"Welcome aboard Spokes." He said as he offered the glass. "What brings
you to the Windstorm?"

"Thanks Don." Spokes said as he accepted the glass and washed the
taste of an X-Wing's cockpit from his mouth. "The usual. Another call
for reinforcements from those stuck babysitting that damned Frigate."

"We don't have anything else to send." Captain Moori said before
Spokes could even ask.

"I know. I already told them that. From what I could see during my
flyby, the Imps are willing to scuttle her before letting us have her." Spokes
finished his drink and set the glass on the desk. Don Moori refilled it
without asking and Spokes lifted it back up again. "And, I'm not
willing to risk another Cap Ship in that system. Kunder & Daala would
love to draw us in there and take out one of our Cruisers with so many
Dupes in action."

"Any word on what they are planning?" Captain Moori asked. It was
the same question Spokes heard on every ship he had been in contact with.

"Sorry Don, but even if I knew anything it would still be classified. You know
we've had a couple of bad leaks." Spokes finished the whiskey and waved off
a refill. "Besides, we usually find out about their next move when they hype in
and start shooting..."

-----Patriot Battle Fleet News-----

1) RS Database SNAFU
Shikkie is currently making corrections to the Roster Database. Seems everyone's
rank was changed to Cadet, then Major, and now Shikkie is restoring Rank by
hand. If your rank is wrong, contact your Squadron CO with your correct Rank
and PIN #. You CO will contact Shik.

2) Fleetwide State Of Emergency
Discussions are underway to de-activate two Squadrons and reassign those
pilots to other Squadrons after Mission 310. Currently, Silver & Stealth
members are being considered for reassignment. This should end the SoE
as it now stands and help restore the level of competitiveness to the PBF.
Graduating Cadets will continue to be assigned to Squadrons that have the
most empty spots until all Squadrons are full. At that time, reactivation of
Squadrons will be considered.

3) New PBF IO needed.
We have had two applications and the PBF Command Staff will make a selection
soon. If you are interested in this position, please send in an application to Slyder.

4) Scoring System changes
Now, we come to the matter of the new scoring system. The members of the
PBF CO's list have been informed of this for over a month now, and their
input has been considered in finalizing the new scoring system. If you
haven't seen a list yet, here it is.

6) New MRM point policy
After discussing this with my CS, we have come to a unanimous decision that
good narratives should be awarded as much as good flying. Therefore, all MrM
winners starting now will receive a 5 point bonus to their points at the end
of the mission. This will be treated like the MoV winner, they cannot
accumulate more then 5 points per mission. To make things fair, the MrM
winner(s) and the MoV winner will not be one and the same...

back one week, till December 7th. Take note of this...also, scores have not
been updated yet due to low number of reports.

The rules for flying the mission are:

1) You may run this mission as many times as you like but you MUST
get the MISSION COMPLETE message and have a valid *.plt file in order
to be eligible for the PBF Medal of victory. In addition, any score
not accompanied by a pilot file for verification will NOT be counted
by the PBF Command Staff.

2) Run the mission as "defect.xwi" ( this will place it as X-Wing
X-Wing TOD 1 Mission 1 ) so that your stats will be recorded in your
*.plt file.

3) Make a new pilot file to run the mission. If you fail the mission
and wish to run it again make sure to use a new pilot file instead of
re-running it with the same pilot. Any pilot file found to be
"unclean" will result in the score NOT being counted by the PBF
Command Staff.

4) Destroying "Friendly" craft to pad ones stats is strictly
prohibited. *.plt files containing "Rebel" craft kills will be
considered invalid.

5) You should also include a written report with your score laser/ion
shots and hits, missile shots and hits and kill totals in the email.

6) Pilot files will be manually calculated using the Official PBF
Standard scoring chart for X-wing. Anyone interested in obtaining a
copy of this chart, can email me to do so.

7) No individual scores will be changed after the deadline! If a
report is submitted that is never received at the report address
given above, it will not be added after the deadline. Neither will
the PBF CO accept a late pilot file. The only thing that can be
changed afterwards are errors made by the Command Staff.

8) There is a Fleet Wide competition based on this tour. Every pilot
who sends in a valid report will receive 1 merit point. The pilot
with the best overall score for the mission will be awarded a special
PBF Top Gun medal, along with receiving a 5 point bonus in the PBF
Merit System. In addition participating members from the squadron
with the best overall combined score will receive 5 bonus merit
points in addition to "Top Squadron" bragging rights. Also, the pilot
with the top score for each squadron (excluding the winning squadron,
and Top Gun) will receive 3 bonus PBF merit points. The reporting
members of the Squadrons on 2nd and 3rd places will get 2 bonus PBF
merit points.

*Note* In the even that the Top Pilot for the mission also happens to
be in the Top Squadron he may only receive the 5 bonus Credits for
one or the other. Same thing applies to each squadron Top Pilot and
2nd and 3rd place squadrons.

9) Mail problems including undelivered mail and corrupted *.plt files
are not the responsibility of the PBF command staff. If your *.plt file
becomes corrupted and you do not include a written accounting,
then your score will be counted as "0".

10) If a pilot retires from the PBF at any time during the course of
an active mission after having submitted a report, his report will no
longer count for his former squadron. He will still receive credit
for running the mission, but will be listed as "Inactive".

11) If a pilot transfers from one PBF squadron to another (such as
attaining a squadron CO position) during the course of an active
mission after having submitted a report, his report will will now
count towards the newfound squadron.
