Welcome to the most recent State of the Rebel Squadrons Address for the month of November. The holiday season is fast approaching, and the excitement that comes with it can be felt among everyone. That excitement is hopefully being carried on throughout the club. 1) The first announcement is a very exciting one. The efforts of RA Shikkie Kaaran and BGN Deltan Saviri have combined once again to create a newly designed roster database that has more efficient coding to make it run faster and also gave it a new look. This database also incorporates a few new features, as well as many improved features that you'll recognize from the current database.

However, instead of just switching over, we would like to get some feedback from the general membership first. The newer version of the database can be viewed at . Everyone is encouraged to take part in a poll ( to choose with system you prefer. After a few days of polling, those results will dictate whether or not it is decided to fully move over to the newer version of the roster database. Please visit those links to participate in this decision!

2)      Second thing I would like to announce is that a website for the Office of the Fleet Commander has been created. As of right now, it is not completely finished and still remains a work in progress. Those pages that have been completed are ready for viewing, so if you would like to check them out, please do so by browsing Special thanks to Avera Selene for all her work and time spent on it! Quack, quack. ;)

1) If there are any ideas, suggestions, comments, questions, or bugs about the newer roster database version, please email and with them.

2) As for the new database itself, I imported several features that used to be outside the roster database (because the old database was badly coded and I wanted to separate the good code from the bad). Currently imported features are,,, and (partly, full rewrite). I am planning on either importing or redoing the feature.

3) Remember, check out the new DB at and take part in the poll at

- FC's Note: With the resignation of COL Sig Pillar as Historical Officer, FA Dave Trebonious-Astoris was recently appointed as the new HO. -

1) As my first official release, I'm pleased as pie to bring you an archive of immense historical value. On the night of November 28, one of the most striking events in the history of the RS' web presence occurred Shikkie screwed up the roster and set us all at the rank of Major, and then later booted everyone down to Cadet. Not only was this striking, it also turned out to be quite hilarious.

For the benefit of all who missed it, and for those who simply want to relive the magic, I have compiled a zip file which includes screenshots of the roster after the disaster (courtesy of Sair) and a log of the response of those online at the time at

2) For the time being, the Historical Office is closed to history submissions during this transition of positions.

That is all for November's State of the Rebel Squadrons Address. If you have any questions, new ideas, suggestions, complaints, or the like, then please feel free to contact me ( with them and I will get back to you as soon as possible. May the Force be with you and the pride and honor of the Rebel Squadrons carry on in all of you! Looking forward to December...

Vice Admiral Rahj Tharen,
Rebel Squadrons Fleet Commander
