State of the Rebel Squadrons Address
Greetings Members of the Rebel Squadrons,
Welcome to the latest addition of the State of the Rebel Squadrons Address. Throughout this month, advancements have been made on many affairs. Subsequently, as time moves on and more projects near their completion, the future continues to escalate in an upward trend for the Rebel Squadrons.
Some very noteworthy actions have resulted from this past month’s events; mainly in a push by High Command to overhaul and revise the Bylaws to turn the Bylaws into a document that is more forcibly only the written will of High Command and to bring it back to its original intent of being a guideline for the entire club to follow - not the supreme law in this club. You can read more on this in current and future High Command News Flashes, but changes on this have already been set into motion and it will prove to be a very exciting transformation for the Rebel Squadrons.
In the meantime, the Executive Branch is working verbosely to improve every aspect of the design and look of the main components of the Rebel Squadrons domain. The culmination of this project has not only brought us a new and improved look for the Rebel Squadrons Roster Database and BBS in the past, but now new and improved designs for every Executive Office website. Those new pages can be viewed in the Internet Officer’s report. If you may remember the concept of Fleet templates, those designs have also been completed by BGN Deltan Saviri for each Fleet and are ready to be finished. Also in production are new uniform designs for each Fleet that will be automated through PHP coding to be automatically updated through the Roster Database. This is a joint project being coordinated through the Internet Office, Medals Office, and MGN Adam “Vender” Fene (RSI). Also from the Internet Office, a new RS IRC and Bar & Grill website has been completed by MGN Patrick “Blaster” Blastfire (AIO). It can be viewed at http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/irc/. Blaster has done an excellent job and it will forever be an excellent tool to those newer members that need help in B&G and IRC etiquette. Lastly, the search for a new Operations Officer is currently under way. A call for applications has already been sent out, but the first Assistant Operations Officer has been appointed in Captain Isoldur “Dragon” Cauthon (isoldur@aol.com). The RS may be temporarily without an OO, but work is still being continued within the Operations Office through myself and Dragon. More information on this can be found in the section for the OO’s report.
Like in all SotRS Addresses, you will find a report from every office in the Executive Branch. These reports should give every member a fairly good insight into the day to day operations and happenings of this club. The latest HC NF is posted at the end as well. Congratulations to those pilots and commandos that received medals!

The new Executive Officer website is up. Much thanks to Dev for the initial design. It can be viewed at http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/xo/. Furthermore, I continue work on the Academy Database for cadets and have recently added a lot of new features to it. More news on this project as work progresses. I am also helping with the automation and PHP coding with all the Uniform and Fleet template projects, but those projects need to have more development through others before I can get my hands on them. Other than that, it is the usual day to day stuff and HC NF’s. As soon as summer starts, you can expect a massive increase in PHP projects from me, as I have many ideas. :)

Community Meeting ----------------
Community meetings are scheduled for the second Sunday of every month. The next meeting will be Sunday, April 14th, In #outerrim at 4pm EST.
Current Debates ----------------
IBG CO Situation - This issue has been resolved. It has been found that the Bylaws were a major culprit in the situation by being contradictory in nature, as well as poor communication by some of those involved. LGN Bluejay Farscape has come back to serve as IBG CO once more. Welcome back BJ!
Bylaw Revisions - As mentioned last week, High Command was voting to decide if it was necessary to completely revamp the RS Bylaws. That vote has passed and this task will be undertaken.
In order to facilitate both the re-writing of the RS Bylaws AND the normal High Command duties, a small council of Former/Current Rebel Squadrons Fleet Commanders, and the most experienced Fleet COs has been formed to rewrite the Bylaws, which then will be approved or rejected for re-write by the full body of High Command. This smaller council is being chaired by former RSFC Fleet Admiral Dave Trebonious-Astoris.
Questions, Concerns, and suggestions may be directed.

Closing
In closing, I want to stress the following points very much, and make it a standard to end with these thoughts. If I drill this into everyone, only positive things can come out of it, but I am afraid by repeating this over and over again it could lose its meaning to you all over time.
Nonetheless, if everyone could really consider these things and follow through with it in their actions, it will always improve the state of the Rebel Squadrons. I would like to remind everyone of the challenge before us. I challenge every member in this club – every Fleet CO, every Wing CO, every Squadron CO, etc - to start working on two things: unity and communication. It all starts with you guys, and everyone knows that. If we all strive for unity, and cultivate an atmosphere of respect, internal relations in this club will improve tenfold. Imagine what we can get accomplished then? Strive to follow HIER! As for communication, I dare every person in this club to take more initiative, keep your people up to date, write more emails, and reward those where credit is due. Keep communication strong! If I can try harder in these attributes, then so can you. And if that can happen, we can make this club what we want it to be – together.
May the Force be with you and may the pride and honor of the Rebel Squadrons carry on in all of you!
Respectfully submitted,
Vice Admiral Rahj Tharen,
