Greetings ladies and gents of the Rebel Squadrons Academy! This NL has been a long time in coming, and I wish to apologize for its delay. As a foreword, I want to thank all of you for the hard work that you've put into your departments and divisions. Of late there has been a decline in the number of graduating cadets as well as decline in RSA activity and I hope that you all will share my vision in getting the RSA back on its feet again. We're the most important Fleet in the entire RS! Without further ado, let's move on to the latest news.

----- I. Latest News -----

- Officers Training School Opened!

This month, we are proud to have the official opening of the Officers Training School! This new division offers all officers and members a chance to hone their leadership skills. Applications are open to all RS Members, with a prerequisite of at least a Captain's rank, and the approval from your primary Fleet's CO. Only two members per fleet may attend an OTS session at one time. The application deadline is July 31.... um... which has technically expired, but do follow the progress of the current batch, and look out for the next application period. For more information, contact the division CO, General Janet Skyy at janetskyy@prodigy.net

- TIE Undergraduate Tour 8 Awards Ceremony

Congratulations to the TUG for having a successful Tour. Even as the effects of the booze start to wear off, and Licah Fox parades his Tour Top Gun Medal, there are many more goodies to be given out. Do check out the medals section for a couple o medals awarded.

- RS Academy Instructors Manual

THanks to Gizmo for setting up the base for the RSA Instructors Manual. I've modified it some to include relevant issues, and it will be a helpful guide to all the staff of the RSA. It will be placed on the website once I get an IO, but in the meantime, I'll send a copy to everyone after this.

----- II. Classifieds -----

- Rebel Squadrons Academy SO (RSA SO)

This position comes with the responsibility of keeping track of all the incoming cadets and handling the monthly department/division reports. The SO will report directly to the RSA CO and XO. Other responsibilities include checks on the various departments and divisions to make sure they are running smoothly (Not an easy task, mind you), and other stuff that this evil XO can cook up. ;)

Applicants should be a current or former RS member, with considerable command experience and vision. Also, applicants should not have a retirement plan within the next half a year, at least. Basically what we need is a hardworking officer that can dedicate time and resources to improving the standards of the RSA. Training is provided. Interested applicants please email Col. Anthon Connor at wthoo@tm.net.my and Admiral Castor Efrata-Landis at mtnlionrc@aol.com

- Rebel Squadrons Academy IO (RSA IO)

As you can see, the current RSA website, although recently updated with the new RS Templates, is seriously outdated in terms of content. The first job of the RSA IO will be to update that content. Once that is done, it comes with it either a promo (depending on the officer's rank) or a medal, depending on the quality and amount of work done.

Subsequent duties involve the monthy inspection of ALL RSA Department and Division websites, as well as the awarding of a RSA Website of the Month medal as a result of that inspection. The RSA IO should ensure that all Division IOs are doing their jobs. Generally, the RSA IO applicant should be creative, and has knowledge in HTML. PHP knowledge is a bonus, but NOT a requirement. Training is NOT provided. ;) Interested applicants please email Col. Anthon Connor at wthoo@tm.net.my and Admiral Castor Efrata-Landis at mtnlionrc@aol.com

- TIE Undergraduate SO (TUG SO)

TUG SO wanted. You need to be able to make TIE missions on a monthly basis and be able to fly weekly missions. If you are interested, contact Kettch Nasin at kettch_nasin@hotmail.com"

- Instructors for various Undergraduate and Post Graduate Divisions

There are openings for instructors in various UG and PG Divisions. Do check out the RSA roster for place availability and contact the respective division COs.

----- III. Promotions! -----

Very often, the work that we do is overlooked or underrated, and promotions and medals are few and far in between, but from now on I wish to change that.

The following is based on General Kyle Tobarn's promo cycle for the ABG. Thanks for the guide. :)

At the end of each month I will be conducting a monthly promotion cycle for all the RSA Department and Division COs. Note that my eyes will be on the COs only. For the XOs, SOs and instructors, it is the responsibility of the Dept. or Division COs to let me know who they want to promote at the end of each month. If you feel that you are not being promoted or recognized for your efforts due to the fact that your CO is slacking, on LOA or non-existant, let me know, and direct all complaints to me. I will try to take the necessary action to rectify the situation.

Remember that in order for me to be able to grade every CO fairly, I need to see what's going on in your division. Keeping me updated on your division through monthly reports and the sight of division NLs are a sure thing. This is important also that I see what's going on (For the Fleet Checkups thingy that I have to do) can help you out should you have any trouble with your division.

If the person's rank is a Level One rank (Lieutenant Junior Grade to Captain), then activity and time will be the primary reason for which I base my decision.

If the rank is a Level Two rank (Major through Colonel), once again activity and time will govern, and I will look at the activity in the division as a whole, and consistancy in maintaining a satisfactory level of excellence in the division.

If the rank is a Level Three rank (Brigadier General through General) I will look for consistent activity, extra effort and time put into the fleet, performance beneficial on a fleetwide level, low or no complaints against-especially complaints that may reach the MoJ or higher, and never deviates from the ideals of HIER.

Finally, don't ask me for a promotion for yourself. Just don't. Show me what you can do in your division, and I know how to do my job.

And now for the promotions!! Note that all this promos have been owed to you guys since September of last year, and it's payback time.

Lt. Col. Kettch Nasin, for your constant dedication as TUG CO, sending out NLs almost every single week, and making the TUG to be the most active Undergraduate Division in the RS Academy, you are hereby promoted to a full Colonel!

Lt. Cmdr. Licah Fox, for your excellent work as TUG XO, reporting on every mission, helping cadets out at every turn, and making missions whenever asked and running the TUG while Kettch was away, you are hereby promoted to a full Commander!

Cmdr. Cole Landfarer, for your unwavering dedication to the IBG UG all this while, as well as good handling of the IBG UG, you are hereby promoted to Lieutenant Colonel!

Col. Jon Anchorage, for completely reviving the STC UG, motivating your instructors and putting in much effort to ensure the division runs well, you are hereby promoted to Brigadier General!

Congratulations to all of you!
