INTREPID BATTLE GROUP NEWSLETTER - SEPTEMBER 22nd, 2002
REPORTED BY COL GABRICH VARMER, IBG XO
------------------------------------------------------

Colonel Gabrich Varmer stood still, looking frustrated. The chief doctor onboard the Rebel Fist stared at him with identical feeling, then at his datapad, and then at the man who sat between the two standing men.

Lt. General Deltan Saviri, IBG CO, sat looking at the wall in front of him with idiotical expression - no expression at all. He just watched through and across the wall, and did not see it. He said or though or did nothing. He was almost in comma - yet his eyes were open and he seemed awaken.

"It's starting to make me worry," said the doctor, "this disease is getting dangerously common. It's called the 'Gab's CO syndrome', and it affects mostly those Commanding Officers who have this man as their XO... named Gabrich Varmer, do you know him?"

"Yeah, that's me."

"Oh really. And tell me something, you're not a lucky guy are you?"

"No, not quite. How did you guess?" Gab joked.

"Hell. They gave your name to this syndrome. I would be worried in your case."

Gab sighed as a reply.

"Well, technically this makes you ACO for quite a long time... and since you have no SO or anything, you're basically screwed, with a fleet to run and no help at all."

Gab sighed again. "It's happened to me other times... you can guess. Not at fleet level though. Oh well. I have quite a lot of work to do - try to get Deltan back on line soon ok?

"I'll do what I can."

"Thanks." Gab looked at Deltan, who had not moved a single millimeter, sighed once again, walked to the door and headed to his office.

IBG ITOD 112 RESULTS

Not a bad turnout after all, but it was lower than on the last mission (25 reports compared to 28), and things get worse when we point out that our numbers have grown since then. Just a 41% this time. It can be improved, and I'll expect you to improve it next time OK? Come on, make your miserable Fleet ACO happy at least once. :P

------------------------------------------------------
NEW MEMBERS
------------------------------------------------------

I would like everyone to welcome those who have entered the IBG in the last days (got no record prior to my "taking over" as ACO, when I started placing people on my own...). These people are:

Lt. Jg. Crayce Teklin, to Draco.
Gen. Bluejay Farscape, who rejoins Dagger.

------------------------------------------------------
MELEES
------------------------------------------------------

Just a sentence:

This will not do.

The activity levels on both the melees (IBG and inter-club) are NOT acceptable. You can do WAY better... 1 match in 2 hours. Oh, come on.

------------------------------------------------------
ANNOUNCEMENTS
------------------------------------------------------

Any projects started by Deltan (IBG Historical records, for instance) are paralysed by his absence.
Not any Command Position changes that I know of... yet I repeat I do not have records for long. There should be one big change soon, though, and that one should be:

------------------------------------------------------
IBG SO REQUIRED
------------------------------------------------------

You know what to do - if you're interested email me and Deltan with your applications. You should include your experience, past and present Command positions, leadership skills, new ideas for the IBG, or anything you consider important. Application emails with just a sentence saying "/me applies" will not even be considered.

------------------------------------------------------
FROM THE DESK OF THE XO
------------------------------------------------------

Ack! My luck stinks. :P

This is my way of saying, in brief, that:

1) Deltan is gone, and he seems to have been in a hurry because he didn't even have time to let me know. I started learning his job a while ago, and now the medals are awarded and the merits are updated. Hence the lateness of this NL. I am sorry.
2) Deltan is gone, and all. Hence the lack of records in some parts of this NL. I'm sorry. :P
3) Deltan is gone. Which means I'm alone here doing everything. I have no SO, or anyone to do even the lesser stuff as I do the big stuff... and college is starting in like 3 days. OMG I'm scared. :P
4) Deltan is gone, and I have one huge Ceremony to write, despite the fact that I'm no English speaker and my vocab may not be wide enough.
5) Deltan is gone.
6) As I was writing this, I got disconned, and I reconnected, and then the stupid site of my stupid server got authomatically in here as I was writing this and erased all my text. Which means I've written this NL twice. :P
7) Deltan is gone.
8) Argh, man. :P

------------------------------------------------------
FROM THE DESK OF THE ACO
------------------------------------------------------

Yes, it's me again. All I wanted to say is, well, I'm proud of everyone who has participated on this finished TOD, I thank them, and I hope they've had fun - for it's that what we're here for. I hope this current IBG/R2F TOD will have even better results than the previous one, and we will have more fun together.
If you have any suggerence, feedback, or idea, feel free to email me, I promise to reply. We're always looking for good ideas, and hearing from the pilots.

On a side note, I'd like to congrat Talon Wing. Our newest division has just started its first Tour of Duty. Cheers!

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm horribly busy. :P
