Commander Frenzer stood in the large bay aboard of a modified hanger created from several containers grafted together. He knew that the Patriot Battle Fleet and their incompitent commander Lieutenant General McGrath would be coming for them. They were the closest base to the patrol zones that the PBF was aware of. It was just a matter of a question of when. Several shuttles had allready launched. All that was left was military personell, and some crew members. The two groups of corvettes slowly lumberd by in front of him like two bulky banthas lumburing through the Tatooine deserts. They were beeing escoted by a group of stolen interceptors and a group of transports. The other two trasports were now loading up, and two shuttles had headed over to the homes for last minute evacuations by staff.
A small chime from the commanders shoulder announced an incomming communique.
"Yes." he stated simply.
"Sir, the ISD Judicator is in position. It should be able to hold off any attack the squadrons make."
"Good. Good. Tell them to distract the enemy as long as possible so we can finish the evacuation. Once our shuttles and transports are clear, send the message for the judicator to jump out and get the enemy to follow."
A smug grin arose on the commanders face. Indeed, this General McGrath would be in for a surprise when he got here to find an Imperial class cruiser in his face. The commander brought the steaming cup of cafe up to his mouth and began to take a sip. As his eyes stretched out through the void, they widend, and his face turned white. A shrill echo bounced off of the walls of the hanger as he was witness to not one, but several flashes of light not even 5 clicks away. As on que, the klaxons began to wail.
"Incoming enemy fighters, 9 o'clock! ETA one minute!" the comm rang out.
Commander Frenzer pulled the shoulder of his shirt as close to his mouth as possible and yelled. "EVERYTHING. Get everything and anything we have left into the air! Why are they coming in so close! Intell said they had gatherd their fleet to attack on a return route from their last mission! Everything NOW!!!!"

The Xwing barelled out of hyperspace just on the perimiter of the WG base. It raced forward at full throttle, locking it's S-foils in the infamous X shape.
"Red one this is Misko. Sly, you set?"
The leader of the Patriot Battle Fleet, the best of the best of the RS was apparently not as slow as the enemy commander had thought.
"As ready as ever Misk. You and Jan go for those transports taking off. Ill take care of the squints. Gold squadron, this is General McGrath. Begin your bombing raid!"

Paladin Squadron Mission 1

LCM Daniel Rezmann, commanding officer of the newly formed Paladin Squadron, the PBF's elite fighter unit, threw his helmet against a wall.
"Sometimes I don't understand this galaxy." He grumbled to nobody in particular, though LCM Dev Azzameen was standing by his side, looking at the damage one throw could inflict to a helmet and wondering if it was the first time that it had actually hit a wall.
"One minute we have ourselves a new ally, the next they're shooting torpedoes up our arses, and our old mutual enemy is suddenly our new ally against our old ally! I tell you one of these days, everyhting is going to be so twisted that I'll just start shooting anything that moves!"
"That could work, would you like me to write that down for later." Dev pipped in, trying to lighten the mood of his new squadron leader.
"Nah, be better off I forget such thoughts lest I act on them. Anyway we've got other problems to solve." Rezmann responded, before continuing. "Can you go dig me up all the reports you can from Slyder on the last few engagements involving the Wihte Guard, we may be able to find something useful, and I've got a twisted idea to go think about. Report to my office in about 2 hours."
"No probs, boss." Dev said, thinking to himself what a twisted idea could mean to an already twisted person like Rezmann.
As Dev turned and left the hangar in the direction of Slyder's office, Rezmann, turned in the opposite direction and made for his familiar thinking ground, the Bar N' Grill.

Two hours later, Dev strolled along the corridors of the Windstorm, heading towards the doorway that marked the entrance to Rezmann's office. As the only office onboard the Windstorm without a door, Rezmann's was relatively easy to spot. The story behind the door dating back to a moment when it jammed shut at the same time it's occupant was busting to use a refresher unit, several explosive charges eventually opened the door and crushed a 3PO unit on the wall directly opposite. Even with the open door, Rezmann was very rarely bugged, this probably having something to do with 'Killer' his assasin droid also acting as secretary, and discouraging those with unimportant business to not bother entering. It also kept away those annoying protocol droids that forever introduced themselves with a complete description of there capabilties.
Walking past Killer, who Dev was sure already had some kind of weapon trained upon him even if visually nothing actually moved on the droid, and sat straight in the empty chair opposite Rezmann, who appeared to be in some kind of trance.
Snapping out of it, Rezmann spoke "G'day Dev, so'd you get those reports from Sly?"
"Right here, there's quite a few of them too." Dev answered, at the same time reaching for a couple of datapads and a stack of data cards from a bag that he had carried in.
"Good, search for anything that looks like a regular flight routine, such as reports from common hyperspace vectors, repeated sightings in a particular area, or common navigation points. We need to be able to locate some ships, I've got a plan, Sly has approved of it, we just need to get our background information."
"No problem, and if I find anything of value?" Asked Dev.
"Note it, and we'll come back to it once we have sifted through everything." Rezmann answered. "We're going to be doing something very bold, and what I'm about to tell you does not leave this room, under any circumstances." Rezmann continued, before outlining his objectives for dealing with the White Guard.
"Hmmmm intersting thought." Dev said after Rezmann had finished. "And Sly actually gave the go ahead for this?"
"Sure did, in fact he was quite keen on it." Rezmann spoke, discarding yet another data card into a pile of useless information.
Scanning over his pad, Dev came across something of note. "Rez, how's this look?" he asked, passing the datapad over.
Taking the datapad, Rezmann scanned over it, before replying. "Dev, I think we've got our selves a winner." He said passing the datapad back. "Keep that one aside, but continue searching, we may find out some more uselful information yet."

Another 3 hours passed, with some small talk in between, and a discussion or two about the odd data card of some interest, but nothing much more turned up than the first lead.
Reaching for the very last data card, Rezmann placed it in his data pad and checked it's contents, a sly smile breaking across his face as he did so.
"Hey Dev, here's a good one." He said "Sly has some how given us his music collection."
"Ha, ha. What's on it" Dev laughed.
"Let's see... The Max Rebo Band... Friggin D'an and his Modal Nodes ...Bobolo Baker's All-Bith Band, well I know those three." Rezmann began. "What else we got here... hmmm.. Vryyk Ansor and his Wailing Whiphids.. Assshyyk?.. isn't that a Wookie group?.. Fe'yors' Four, they're pretty cool.... oh my god, listen to this one, Bosmor and his Gammorean Grunts!.. where does he get this stuff from?"
"Who knows." Laughed Dev.
"Well we'll have to ask him later I guess." Rezmann said, as he finished going through the list. "Ok I guess we'd better act on what on that data card you found earlier. Can you head down to the hangar and organise for all our A-wings to be fitted out for recon duties, then notify everybody of a briefing in two hours, I'm going up to Sly with this, I think we can gain some useful intel from this."
"No probs boss." Dev said as both stood up to leave the office.

Two hours later, the pilots were all formed in the briefing room. Rezmann stood up the front surveying the pilots, checking for absent faces. All here, excellent. He began to speak.
"Pilots, we have work to do. Our recent fight against the WG has lead us to believe that there are several White Guard task forces around this sector. We need to locate them and locate them quickly. I have here in my hand" Rezmann said holding up a data card, "A complete list of the White Guards navigation points, and list of all movements in the past 2 years. We will patrol the most frequently used points until we locate one of these task forces. Identifty and record all vessells that appear and relay the data as soon as possible so we can launch a follow up strike. This information is of vital importance for the planning of future operations so it is imperative that we obtain it. I know that this has been a short briefing, but we have to act now, so all crews see Dev" Rezmann said passing his XO the datacard "And he will assign you your indivdual orders."

-----PBF Mission Info-----

The current Patriot Battle Fleet mission is:

PBF 407

The deadline for the current mission is:

Sunday Sept 30th 11:59 pm EDT

You can download the current mission at:

http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/pbf/missions.html

Send reports with pilot files attached to:

pbfreports@yahoogroups.com

Plus your own squadron CO and/or squadron egroup.

The rules for flying the mission are:

1) You may run this mission as many times as you like but you MUST
get the MISSION COMPLETE message and have a valid *.plt file in order
to be eligible for the PBF Medal of victory. In addition, any score
not accompanied by a pilot file for verification will NOT be counted
by the PBF Command Staff.

2) Run the mission as "defect.xwi" ( this will place it as X-Wing
X-Wing TOD 1 Mission 1 ) so that your stats will be recorded in your
*.plt file.

3) Make a new pilot file to run the mission. If you fail the mission
and wish to run it again make sure to use a new pilot file instead of
re-running it with the same pilot. Any pilot file found to be
"unclean" will result in the score NOT being counted by the PBF
Command Staff.

4) Destroying "Friendly" craft to pad ones stats is strictly
prohibited. *.plt files containing "Rebel" craft kills will be
considered invalid.

5) You should also include a written report with your score laser/ion
shots and hits, missile shots and hits and kill totals in the email.

6) Pilot files will be manually calculated using the Official PBF
Standard scoring chart for X-wing. Anyone interested in obtaining a
copy of this chart, can email me to do so.

7) No individual scores will be changed after the deadline! If a
report is submitted that is never received at the report address
given above, it will not be added after the deadline. Neither will
the PBF CO accept a late pilot file. The only thing that can be
changed afterwards are errors made by the Command Staff.

8) There is a Fleet Wide competition based on this tour. Every pilot
who sends in a valid report will receive 1 merit point. The pilot
with the best overall score for the mission will be awarded a special
PBF Top Gun medal, along with receiving a 5 point bonus in the PBF
Merit System. In addition participating members from the squadron
with the best overall combined score will receive 5 bonus merit
points in addition to "Top Squadron" bragging rights. Also, the pilot
with the top score for each squadron (excluding the winning squadron,
and Top Gun) will receive 3 bonus PBF merit points. The reporting
members of the Squadrons on 2nd and 3rd places will get 2 bonus PBF
merit points.

*Note* In the even that the Top Pilot for the mission also happens to
be in the Top Squadron he may only receive the 5 bonus Credits for
one or the other. Same thing applies to each squadron Top Pilot and
2nd and 3rd place squadrons.

9) Mail problems including undelivered mail and corrupted *.plt files
are not the responsibility of the PBF command staff. If your *.plt file
becomes corrupted and you do not include a written accounting,
then your score will be counted as "0".

10) If a pilot retires from the PBF at any time during the course of
an active mission after having submitted a report, his report will no
longer count for his former squadron. He will still receive credit
for running the mission, but will be listed as "Inactive".

11) If a pilot transfers from one PBF squadron to another (such as
attaining a squadron CO position) during the course of an active
mission after having submitted a report, his report will will now
count towards the newfound squadron.

12) Flying/Incentives
After a unanimous decision by the PBF Command group (all COs and XOs at every level) I have decided to implement an incentives program. This was prompted
by the overwhelming number (percentage wise) of reports on 312. The new incentives are as follows:

A) For every squad that reports at 75%, a ribbon will be awarded for that mission. This ribbon will be a small graphic that can be added to pilot uniforms. I haven't
created it yet...but I will be talking to those I need to shortly.

B) For every squad that reports at 100%, the same mission ribbon will be offered, as well as an additional merit point for the mission (not counting top ace, or squad
merits.)

You may ask, "What is required for the reporting.

1) A valid mission file and physical report (same as normal)
2) We know some people can't report in some instances. This will not be held against squads. If it comes to pass that you could not report for any reason, such as
computer issues, you were gone...A properly written narrative will suffice for the flying report. This does not cover, "Oh, I forgot to fly" Or, "I didn't want to fly."
These narratives are for the use of people who cannot fly the mission, and need another method of counting a report.

Guidelines for narratives:
The narrative needs to be more then "I got in my ship, launched, flew around, shot this and this up, went home and drank beers." A quality written narrative (Under
the discretion of PBF command staff looking at reports) needs to consist of some bulk. It can be, however, a report of anything. Since by using this method of
reporting, you weren't able to fly for whatever reason, the narrative DOES NOT have to be about the mission directly. You could write a substantial narrative about
since your hip was damaged, you stuck back to make repairs to join the second wave. Or, since you couldn't fly, you volunteered to join the rescue shuttle to help an
EVA pilot. What you write about is up to you. However, we have command people watching these reports, and they need to be involved, decent reports, or they
will not be counted to the squad total.

Also note: If a squad is at say 10 pilots....the 75% rule would apply to 7 pilots minimum...the 12 pilots per squadron will have no effect. The 75% and 100%
requirements will be based off of the current squad roster...for those that were curious about that.

-----PBF Information-----
