RSCD NL 09-26-02

Time once again for everyone’s favorite NL. This time I’ve got a couple of command changes to announce, as well as a little update on that new type of competition I mentioned last week.

------------------------------------------------------------
New XO-

Due to Gambit’s time restraints, it recently became necessary to find someone to fill the position of RSCD Executive Officer. I’m pleased to announce that after a brief search I was able to find a suitable candidate for the job. I’d like everyone to welcome 2nd Lieutenant Creelo Ne’Raki as the new RSCD XO. I know at first glance it may seem odd for a Lieutenant to be named a Fleet XO, but I assure you Creelo is more than capable of the task. Congratulations Creelo, and go fetch me some coffee: P

Competition Update-

As I stated last time, we’ll soon be starting an event the likes of which has never been attempted before in this Fleet. Whether it’s your computer hardware, not enough experience playing, or just being burned out on it, I realize some of you aren’t exactly thrilled by the prospect of 1 on 1 fights in multiplayer. Because of this, I’ve come up with an idea that should be much broader than a simple MP event, and should wind up being a lot more fun too. I don’t want to give too much of the surprise away, but I think I’ve come up with a way to incorporate MP, SP and fiction into a manageable event for all of us to take part in. When the event starts, I urge everyone to participate in whatever way they can. If you’ve been idle but waiting for something to do, this will be your chance. More to come as I get things worked on.

Melee / InterClub Melee Reminder-

Melee matches can be played against another member at any time night or day in JK/JO between Monday-Saturday of each week. Once completed, send a result of the match to rscdmelee@hotmail.com so that it can be recorded.

The InterClub Melee is still taking place each Saturday from 2-7pm EST in #OuterRim on the Undernet. This is a great chance to get into competition with members of other clubs, and it's a great way to practice before the next incarnation of the ORW comes along.

Merit points will be recorded for each match played, and medals are awarded at the end of each month for the most active members, so there's plenty of incentive to get out and play. Remember, the more merit points you gain, the closer you’ll be to attaining a new House Rank. In the near future House Ranks will begin to carry their own set of privileges, so now’s the time to try and earn them.

Webpages-

We’re currently in need of some help with a number of website projects around the Commando Division. If you’ve got any talent designing sites, or even if you don’t and you just want to try to help, contact me as soon as you can and I’ll give you more detail on what’s needed.

------------------------------------------------------------
Closing-

Next week I hope to have a little something extra for everyone as far as the new comp is involved, so stay tuned till then and remember, play, play and then play some more.
