Pilots and Command Staff of the Intrepid Battle Group,
I just want to formally announce my own presence here today, as it has been made official by Rahj Tharen the RS FC that I am now in charge of the IBG. I am General Adam "Vender" Fene, you can just call me Vender if you want.
I would like to thank those who applied for this position, it only shows how dedicated you are to this fleet and how much you truly care for it. Your efforts won't go unheard, I'll make sure that you have a large part in IBG's growing success. (Damn Rahj for reading my mind and writing this in his announcement.)
I plan to make a lot of changes in the IBG, changes that will improve this fleet vastly. They won't happen right away, as I'm taking the step-by-step approach so no one is left clueless as to what is going on. Some areas of improvement I will be working on is as follows:
1. Communication between the Fleet Command Staff in the XWA Academy. I will be taking care of issued complaints immediately, this will be our primary concern right now.
2. Smooth mission release. As I understand it the IBG XO Gabrich Varmer has established a firm relationship with the ITOD Staff. I will be working with responsible parties to make sure that everyone involved in mission development can accomplish their jobs in a more relaxed manner, while at the same time be able to crank out missions on time and in advance. I also plan on having missions out on the 1st, and due at the end of the month and continue to keep that consistency.
3. Improve mission quality. This is also something I hope to work with the ITOD Staff to improve, which will take considerable time. A lot of time and creativity will go into this for the next ITOD.
4. Command Staff. I will be talking with the entire command staff, and in the future will plan more organized assemblies to further improve not only the IBG's working condition, but their own as well.
5. New melee events. In the future Tournaments, Campaigns, Races, and other such events might be arranged.
6. Melee Ladder/Reporting. I will be talking with the RSIO and the RSXO about getting us a decent ladder and reporting web site, similar to RSCD's and ORW's. I would like to make it so that melees can go on continuously if necessary.
7. Operation Lanvarok Return? This is a questionable idea, but I will be researching the possibility and talking with the Command Staff, and ITOD staff about this once all prior objectives listed already are accomplished. Don't worry, I'm not going to pressure this at all if it's too stressful.
These are just a few improvements and ideas that I'll be bringing to the IBG. I want all members to enjoy their stay here, and continue to want to participate in IBG events. Together we can keep this fleet beautiful, and prosperous at the same time.
I would like to reassure everyone in this fleet that I am a very capable Commander, but also a very fair one. If anyone has any questions, concerns or suggestions I will ask you to please send them to myself and the IBG XO Gabrich Varmer.
Now that you know what I plan to do, I would like to inform you all a little about myself. I know some of you don't know me that well, that you may consider me an "outsider" as I really haven't been a part of the IBG Command Staff. I will just briefly go over my experience and my relationship with the IBG over the 2 or so years I've been in the Rebel Squadrons.
When I began, I started out in a lot of smaller command positions until my opportunity showed, and Fleet Admiral Dev appointed me Retribution Fleet XO. He trained me fairly well, and had a lot of confidence in my ability. During that time I doubled R2F activity, as well as managed the resources the Fleet had to better the conditions within the fleet. Such things included Bethan's work on the ITOD Storylines and my work on the many informational web sites and logos that have sprung up there. It continued on while I was the Retribution Fleet CO, the average reporting percent during my entire time there was probably about 65% which (and I don't want to sound egotistical) probably better than any Fleet CO in the club besides maybe Slyder, in the PBF.
During my command of the R2F, I also had good relations with the IBG. As many of you may know, I organized an ITOD with the IBG (the ITOD you're running right now) and so I'm pretty up to date with situations here.
I'm also Wildcard Squadron XO in Titan Wing, and extremely good friends with the man that is keeping the XWA Academy alive, Garrik Loran. So don't think I'm too out of the loop, the fact is I probably know too much.
I hope that helps some of you sleep at night, and others shake. I look at this as a strictly volunteer job, but I also look at it as a serious one like any other job. The RS is an organization, the IBG is a part of that organization. Organizations need a command staff to run day to day operations, to keep the fleet going healthy, strong, and organized. So I hope the rest of the Command Staff takes things as seriously as I do, I don't think anyone wants to see IBG fall in the gutter another time.
One of the major things I do while I am in command, is delegate authority and projects. This keeps a lot of people from going nuts, and at the same time lets us able to handle our normal day to day duties.
So pilots of the IBG, rest assured that you're in good hands. I hope to hear from many of you, let it be a complaint or compliment.
