RSSTC Newsletter for January.
Greetings members of the STC and welcome to a new year of RTS fun and games. I hope everyone had a good Christmas and a drunken New Year and are now in the mood for some gaming fun.
Now to the news....
NEW ARRIVALS:
Please make welcome to the STC the following new members:
2lt Dan Qal Strum (Eclipse Squadron)
LJG Eneas Nunez (Paladin Squadron)
Rode Mitchell, Matt Brown, Galon Rever and Tarax Kor who have all joined the STC as part of our new Fleet Command division, Burning Skies Squadron.
LADDERS:
All ladders are now in play for the New Year. We have a ladder for each platform, GB, FoCom, SW:FC and Rebellion. Games can be played at anytime, with results reported to me at RS_Jester@hotmail.com. In the reports I will need the following information: Your name, your opponents name, the game played, and who won.
The current ladder cycle will end in 3 months time, with medals for those on top at that time.
RSSTC Battle Night:
Yes, thats right, we now have a battle night. Starting next Friday, and every Friday after that, from 6pm-12pm EST all members of the STC are invited to gather in our Undernet Channel #RSSTC to chat and more importantly, play games. This is the perfect opportunity to get ladder matches under your belt as well as to get to know your fellow STC members a little better. I'll be there and more than happy to take on anyone at any of the games we play (with the exception of Rebellion, which I don't have).
GB ITOD:
I would still like to get an Galactic Battlegrounds Single Player ITOD going at some point. Anyone with GB mission making skills, or anyone who knows of a campaign on the net that could be used in this capacity can contact me at the usual address.
MISSION MAKERS:
The Mission Making Academy is once again open, and looking for instructors. If you know how to make either Rebellion or GB missions and are interested in being an instructor, you can contact the MBA CO, Cephisus Balder.
GB INTERSQUAD TOURNAMENT:
The GB inter-squad tournament will kick off next month. The CO's of both Paladin and Eclipse squadrons need to find people to represent their squad in the following disciplines:
4 One-on-One matches: Post Tech-4 Death Match
Monument Build
Commander of the Base
Random Map battle using the Fortress map.
2 Two-on-Two matches: Random Map battles with locations to be determined at a later date.
1 Three-on-Three match: This will be a Random map sh*t-fight to the death, last team standing wins.
Each match type is worth a different number of points. The 1-on-1 matches are worth one point each. The doubles matches are worth 2 each, and the 3-on-3 is worth 3 points for a total of 11 points. The squad that makes 6 or more points will be declared the winner.
Some of you may grumble at some of the match types mentioned above. But this competition is designed to find the best all-round squad, not just the squad with those best at stomping on others. These missions have been picked to cover a wide variety of situations and required skill-bases, in this comp. flexibilty will be the key.
CO's, please note you only need a minimum of 3 people from your squad to compete, although having more would be preferable, as this is a squad competition after all. A player can play in more than one match of any given type, eg: Player A may play 3 of the one-one one matches, as well as both doubles matches and the triples match if the CO so wishes. But please try to spread the matches around the members who wish to participate, we don't want anyone feeling left out.
Full details and rules for this competition will be out closer to the date.
Well, thats it from me, I hope to see you all in #RSSTC on Friday night, and cramming my inbox with Ladder match results in the mean time.
