General News
--------------------------
Greetings Commandos! Welcome to the latest addition of the Rebel Squadrons Commando Division Newsletter. A week has passed since Admiral Kaz Falcion’s retirement and plans are in full swing to turn this Fleet upside down. The restructuring efforts are largely completed and a redistribution of the RSCD membership will follow as soon as the results of the AWOL check are finished. Once these initial measures are fulfilled, the command staff will begin to offer a series of fun RSCD events to give you all something to do – events that will be brand new to the RSCD. In these events, a large emphasis will be placed on the Squad, making Squad unity, activity, cohesiveness, and training very important. We all joined the RSCD to play Dark Forces, DFII: Jedi Knight, or JKII: Jedi Outcast to have fun. And we fully intend to enhance those experiences! Stay tuned for future developments.
Currently, the Knight Company command staff is working hard to conceptualize and create the aforementioned new events for the Jedi Knight and Jedi Outcast players. Until then, you will have to wet your multiplayer playing appetite with the ORWII on Saturdays and seeking random matches in #RSCD. The RSCD ITOD is currently being reviewed by Lieutenant Colonel DashClone, and will most likely be revived in some form in the near future as well.
Katarn Company continues their regular routine with the Dark Forces platform and story writing. They have recently added a third Squad, Kobra, to their ranks and it will be added to the roster database shortly.
The RSCD Recruitment Orientation Center is readily pumping out cadets. We received four this week already. However, the RSCD ROC is still in need of capable trainers. If you are interested in such an opportunity, then please contact MGN Lamin Zykara (LaminZykara@aol.com).

Outer Rim War II Competition
--------------------------
The ORW II Competition will continue as it does every Saturday from 2 PM EST to 11 PM EST in channel #OuterRim on the Undernet. This is a large scale fictional gaming competition between the Rebel Squadrons, Emperor’s Hammer, Star Vipers, Vast Empire, New Republic 5th Fleet, and the United Confederation of Free Planets. Both DFII: Jedi Knight and JKII: Jedi Outcast are supported at this event, so please attend to fight for the Commando Division and the Rebel Squadrons! More information for this event can be sought at http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/outerrim2/.
--------------------------

Therefore, if you still wish to remain in the Commando Division, please email MGN Zykara (LaminZykara@aol.com) with your name and rank so that you are not removed from the roster and maintain active status.

Without further ado, this week’s Commando of the Week is Major General Lamin Zykara for administering the AWOL check and getting the RSCD ROC back on its feet so quickly. These have been great helps to getting the Commando Division back on its feet. Thank you, Lamin, and keep up the good work!

#RSCD
--------------------------
Want to communicate with the rest of the RS and RSCD? Get on mIRC, go to an Undernet server, then go to channel #RS_BAR_AND_GRILL. The RSCD channel is #RSCD. mIRC is a chat server that is the primary communications tool of the RS, and almost every commando or pilot spends their downtime there between missions. For more information on how to connect to these RS channels, please visit http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/irc/. Everyone is welcome, so stop by and have some fun. Also, check out the main RS Message Board (http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/bbs/) for the latest happenings in the RS and RSCD.
--------------------------
Conclusion
--------------------------
As you can see, things are looking up for the Commando Division. By the next newsletter the redistribution process will be over, and we will hopefully be announcing some new events for you to participate in. RSCD Medals and Merits will also be addressed in the next newsletter. Until then, have fun with your games, visit #RSCD, and please show up to the ORW II this Saturday!
May the Force be with you and may the pride and honor of the Rebel Squadrons carry on in all of you!
