Recruitment and Squadron Disbandment

The other evening I was talking to a member of the R2F on IRC. I told him that Skull Squadron was on a list for be disbanded. I lied. There is no list of possible disbandment of squadrons. Actually, there has been no discussion of it. I've thought about it, but it hasn't gone past there, YET. Now you ask why did I lie. I mean hey, I'm an Eagle Scout, I'm not suppose to lie. Well, this member told me he knew members of the RS who had TIE and might join the R2F if asked. So I told him to talk to them being he knew who they were and probably talked to them more then me since I tend not to talk allot others, other then in NLs. He told me it wasn't his job, it was only the job of the officers. So I told him his squadron is on a list to be decommissioned. He obviously missed the point. And in case anyone else is missing the point of this and I will try to make it clearer here so everybody understands.
It is the responsibility of every member of the R2F (and RS for that matter) to help recruit others to join the R2F (RS). It is not a responsibility reserved for just for Fleet CO's or Squad COs or any other officer. It is the responsibility of all members. You wouldn't be here a member or even bothering to read this NL if you didn't think it was worth being here. So don't think it is not your responsibility to recruit and it is my job, or your Squad COs job to recruit. It is everybody's job to recruit. Just incase you didn't get it... It is YOURS, HIS, HERS, MINES, EVERYBODY'S job to RECRUIT.
TIE Undergraduate
============
Also known as the TUG is not dead as we have seen since we got a few new members recently. This is all thanks to it's interim CO BGN Face Loran and his dedicated staff of instructors. Unfotunetly Face took the job temporarily just to bring it back to life. I have been informed by the Academy Command Staff that he is waiting to be replaced. This is an Easy yet very important job. R2F 7.07 Run-on
============
The R2F run-on has been started but only 2 people other then myself have posted. It can be found at http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/bbs/thread.php?id=2334
Please note then the Run-on takes place between R2F 706 and the current mission R2F 707. The narrative for this mission is below in the mission section of the NL. Also take note that STORM and SENTINEL wings are not close enough to help, but feel free to put your selves or an NAP into the run-on. Remember Runs earn you merits and cover you in the R2F No-Tolerance Policy and since many of you are worried about your squad being disbanded I recommend participating in it and the mission.
TIE Fighter Mission Building Academy
==========================
The TIE MBA is now open for business with a new Instructor. With this change there are also some changes to the TMBA.
The requirements for the basic course are:
-A detailed text of the ITOD. The cadet must write the storyline, what happen in each mission, the type of ships (and perhaps the number) that are involved in the mission.
-Four missions following the cadet's ITOD storyline.
-The creation of battle files (.lfd files) for the group of missions.
And the requirements for the advanced course are:
-Two missions with briefing made by the cadet.
Also, the cadet can get the advanced course medal if he accomplishes the advanced requirements while he's following the basic course. He only needs to make the briefings in at least in two of the basic course missions, then he wouldn't need to make two extra missions for the advanced course.
New RS and R2F Message Boards

Since it seems not many you are aware, the RS and R2F have new message boards. They conform to the newer and more stylish fusion (that use avatars and keep track of # of posts etc, etc, etc.) that other forums use. Jack walked out of the casino and had let a big smile cross his face as he counted the credits he just acquired in the Sabacc game. He lost so much money in there this whole time he has been leave while the Prometheus was in space dock and now he just doubled what he started with a month ago.
When he entered his quarters in the ship yards guest facilities he saw his com panel flashing with a message marked urgent. "Wonder what possible message could be marked urgent. The Prometheus isn't scheduled to be complete for another 3 weeks." He opened the message and the big smile faded into a big frown. "All personnel are ordered to be on ship by 0800 hours and to their departments briefing rooms 1000 hours" He looked at his watch and saw he had 2 hours till he had to be back on board the Prometheus.
Corporal Jack O'reily made the worst mistake he could ever make, he laid down after getting to his quarters on board the Prometheus. Now he had to run to the gunners Briefing room. He's already fifteen minutes late.
The briefing was ending and he noticed an out of place person. It was Captain Vedik. The seasoned veteran has been in command of the Prometheus since it was commissioned. Both he Sergeant Lactrop looked at him with disappointed looks and then the sarge continued.
"Before you are dismissed Captain Vedik wanted to speak to you" The Sergeant took the end seat in the first room and Captain Vedik stepped to the center of the podium. "As you al know, when the shipyards were attacked a few weeks ago Lieutenant Briga was killed in a explosion. That leaves the Prometheus without a Fire Control Operator on the Bridge. So effective immediately Corporal O'Reily is hereby given the field commission of Lieutenant Junior Grade and is transferred to Corp of Bridge Officers as a Fire Control Operator." He looks over to the new Lieutenant. "Let me give you a piece of advise. Don't be late to your duty shifts or else you'll lose your commission and be cleaning the galley for the rest of your life."

"Each member of the Retribution Fleet must either report on either the current Fleet Mission or their current Wing or Squadron mission for the month. (just narratives or reports of zero are acceptable) or participate in the run-on for the current fleet mission or the squadron CO will mark that member AWOL. IF marked AWOL two months in a row for this reason the member may be removed from the squadrons roster with permission from the Fleet CO"

- R2F Intel
R2F Intel is the special Projects/Think Tank group of the R2F. They are looking for anyone who would like to help improve the R2F. You do not need any special skills to join. There current project is working on the R2F shipyards. They are creating crew members and squadrons attached to ships. This project happens to be a project dealing with the fictional side of the R2F. There will be other projects dealing with real things like a Free Mission system. If oyur interested in joining contact LCM Dev Azzameen

Recruit, Recruit, Recruit. The R2F can only survive if we get members. How can we get members, well that is easy. All you have to is tell your friends to go out and get a copy of Tie Fighter (it's cheep, like $10) and sign up. Let them know it is a great game and that they will enjoy the fellowship of joining us here in the Retribution Fleet. Also, go to message boards and post something about the Retribution fleet. Let people know we exist and urge them to give it a try. I mean hey, you enjoy it, So they will probably enjoy it, so lets spread the joy around and keep our ranks growing.
Just incase you are not aware there are many rewards and benefits you can enjoy if you help to recruit new members to the R2F.
