General News
--------------------------

Greetings Commandos! Welcome to the latest addition of the Rebel Squadrons Commando Division Newsletter. Please take the time to read the entirety of this announcement because it is very important.

From the beginning, we have all known that my tenure as Commando Division Commanding Officer was to be temporary. In the past three weeks I truly believe that, together with the RSCD Command Staff, we have made the RSCD a much, much, much better place than it was when we started. The Katarns continue to function, a stable RSCD wide command staff has been installed, the RSCD Recruitment Orientation Center is functioning, we are receiving new members, we have redistributed the Fleet to remove the deadwood, the Domination League is in full swing, a new Jedi Ranking System has been established, the RSCD website is fully updated with new features and perks, and most importantly, activity is on the rise. Not only that, but we have other events in the works as well: namely the RSCD ITOD, the Jedi Outcast Week of War, and Gambit's battlestats concept. All of these elements seem to point to the fact that the RSCD is beginning to stabilize and regain much of the former glory for which this Fleet is renowned. As a team, we have the entire RSCD Command Staff to thank for these improvements.

With that said, the goals I originally set to accomplish are finished. Therefore, my work is largely done and I am more than comfortable in passing the burden and responsibilities of command on to one of you, knowing it will be left in good hands. This does not mean, however, that the work of rebuilding the Fleet is over with. New goals need to be set and reached for to truly make this the best Fleet the Rebel Squadrons has to offer. If every commando continues to put forth the effort and work together, as you have, then those possibilities are endless.

Without further ado, allow me to explain my reasoning and choice for the next RS Commando Division Commanding Officer. I believe that the RSCD has always had the most dedicated and top leaders in the club. It has always been a pleasure working with each of the RSCD Command Staff members in past and in present, including the newer faces. Over the past year, however, one such member has impressed me more and more from work done from within the Executive Staff and throughout the rest of the club. That person is MGN Patrick "Blaster" Blastfire. Blaster is a good leader, has the right activity levels (of the absurd kind), has the leadership experience, and works hard. He is more than capable to handle the immense responsibilities and burdens of the job, and I trust him to not only do it well, but to bring the RSCD to new heights. Therefore, BGN Isoldur “Dragon” Cauthon and MGN Lamin Zykara will continue to serve respectively as RSCD XO and SO, as planned.

As such, you may now consider MGN Patrick “Blaster” Blastfire as the new Rebel Squadrons Commando Division Commanding Officer. I would like to ask every commando to please put their support behind MGN Blastfire. It has been a pleasure working with you all once again and I wish the RSCD the best of luck!

As for the rest of the news…

#RSCD
--------------------------

Want to communicate with the rest of the RS and RSCD? Get on mIRC, go to an Undernet server, then go to channel #RS_BAR_AND_GRILL. The RSCD channel is #RSCD. mIRC is a chat server that is the primary communications tool of the RS, and almost every commando or pilot spends their downtime there between missions. For more information on how to connect to these RS channels, please visit http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/irc/. Everyone is welcome, so stop by and have some fun. Also, check out the main RS Message Board (http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/bbs/) for the latest happenings in the RS and RSCD.

Conclusion
--------------------------

Lastly, even in my reduced capacity, and even though I will continue to be one of the RSCD's most active participants in Knight Company, I will also continue to informally maintain the RSCD Jedi Ranking System. I have had a lot of fun in helping create and maintain it thus far, and as a Jedi Master, I would be involved in maintaining it anyway. So, you can expect to still see me around taking care of those matters. I have already asked Blaster for his permission to do this.

Also, as Fleet Commander, I will always be available to help the RSCD in any capacity, as well as be your staunchest supporter, and a vigilant watcher. ;)

May the Force be with you and may the pride and honor of the Rebel Squadrons carry on in all of you!

":)
