Intrepid Battle Group Newsletter, October 23rd 2003

As our CO is LOA for the time being, it's fallen upon me to send out this NL. It's my first one as IBG XO, so be patient.

1. ITOD 305

Mission 5 in the current Tour is now history, and I guess you've all studied the results list. We had 25 reports this time, and that's a bit disappointing. Even more so, when you see that one sqaudron alone had 10 reports. I hope to see more reports in from the other 5 squadrons on the next mission. At least get your pilots to report in a zero.

The medals on this misson went to:
Gold Wing - Chris, Dagger
Silver Wing - Himm, Dagger
Bronze Wing - Richo, Draco

Congratulations! Face will award them when he gets back. Merit points have been updated. Dagger won this mission, so well done, Kresa, you did a good job of getting all those reports in. Also, Titan Wing seem to have a bit of work ahead, if they want to catch up with Chiin'Tal.

2. Next ITOD mission

Mission 305 was expected to be the last mission in this Tour - but: Surprise! The ITOD Team CS thought it otherwise :) Accordingly, mission 306 is now released. There is one special thing to notice however: The due date is November 17. That mean you've got only three weeks to fly, but that ought to be enough to make a run for the victory in the last mission of IBG ITOD 3. So - get over there and grab that mission! For those of you who don't know how - or don't want to - edit the mission.lst file, simply rename the new file to the same as the last mission you flew.

3. LIC

IBG's "Leagues of Interpersonal Competition" are up and running. Use the option to get some matches, both in the Domination League and in the Starfighter Circuit League. You should all try the racing, it's fun and challenging and a nice variation from the traditional fighting.

Also, I'd like to mention that it's possible to go for matches with more than two players. If you haven't tried it yet, hurry over to #IBG and make it happen. You won't regret it!

4. Promotions etc.

I have no list over the promotions that have taken place since the last NL, so I'll leave that to the Boss for his next NL.
We've had a change of command in Wildcard, as CPT James "Nightwolf" Davidson is now their new CO. Good luck, Captain, in bringing WC back to the top!
In Titan Wing LCL Talon Starblazer is noe the Wing CO. Good luck to himm as well!
We've got some new pilots among us the last month. See to it that you treat them nicely, and do what you can to make them feel at home in the fleet.
Some pilots have left since the last NL. Among them, I will mention one: BJ. He was former IBG CO, and one of those who've been in here the longest. He will be missed.

5. Random stuff

Rumors indicates that Dev is in need of some treatment, after he was observed in Madron's bar recently. He was sitting with his luxury model datapad, making drawings of the Madron in various colors. He seemed to be most fond of mixtures of pink and yellow. His pilots knows little about this, but they'd better keep an eye on their CO...
An eyewitness reports he saw Gab walking in circles around his starfighter last week. If this is a sign that Gab is planning to come back flying, or if it is simply some sort of Catalonian autumn ritual, is still not known.
Shrapnel, Dagger's medical droid, has asked permission to arrange a conference for all IBG's medical droids. The intention is to start the development of some sort of new medicin, intended to make the IBG CO immune to the highly mysterious "IBG CO Disappearance Virus". It's not know if this really is a virus, or if it's a kind of meta-galactical curse.

6. Something you simply don't want to miss

I'd like to mention something special that's going on in #IBG from time to time. It's something you just have to see, as it can't be described in proper language. I'm not even sure what to call it, but maybe the mention of Ent and Reab will give you a hint. Their little feuds are among the most hilarious things in the IBG these days, and you're really missing something if you haven't seen them. This phenomenon takes place at completely random intervals, and varies greatly in intensity, so hang around to get your share of the fun.

Well, that's all for now, pilots. Happy flying on the ITOD mission :)
