Greetings members of the Rebel Squadrons Commando Division. Before I begin, I would first like to announce my thanks to all of my supporters, especially Gambit, who gave me his trust when he reccomended me for this position. I promise, from this point forward, I will make sure that trust is kept as I lead this fleet forward, continuing where he left off.

There are quite a few things to go over today, so bear with me.

1. Chain of Command
2. Command Positions
3. Ideas/Suggestions
4. RSTOD
--Command Staff Meeting

--------------------
1. Chain of Command (Note: This slightly affects most of what is in this NL, and with the RSCD XO currently on leave, I'm going to list it anyways. Please note, that any of the following is subject to change.)
--------------------
I've gotten quite a few questions about this topic, from numerous people, several of which who have asked me if it's alright to place a certain person as XO, or Squadron CO, asking my permission.

I just want to let you know that you 'dont' have to ask my permission, for any position that is under your command. If you feel that person is qualified enough, then the decision is up to you. Though, to help you understand, I'm going to list out the CoC for you. (Ex: You > Position that 'you' can fill at your discression)

Fleet CO > Fleet XO/SO

Fleet CO/XO > Fleet IO - Wing CO

Wing CO > Wing XO/SO/IO - Squadron CO (Internet Officer is optional, as well as Second Officer and Squadron CO. You can elect to have the Wing XO also be able to place Wing IO or Squadron CO, if desired.)

Wing CO/XO > Wing IO - Squadron CO

Squadron CO > Squadron XO/IO

Hopefully this is listed to where most of you can understand it. When you find the position you hold, everything listed to the right of that is what you can place at your authority. Should you feel that someone under your command is not fit for the position, you can remove them and place someone else.

The CoC can be broken, however, in certain cases if it is absolutely required. Should a Squadron CO show signs of faltering, or failing at his position, with no XO withen that squadron, the Wing CS can vote to have a Squad. XO placed in, to assist the Squad. CO, until things improve. Please note, however, that you cannot just 'place' someone there, without their consent.

Note, also, that just because you hold a position, doesnt mean your going to hold it forever. Should a superior officer believe that your actions/quality are below standards, they can remove you from that position without question.

--------------------
2. Command Positions
--------------------
With the recent resignation of Gambit, and my rise to CO, several positions have opened up withen the RSCD, that I feel need to be filled soon. Please note, that I have stepped down from all of my positions, except that of Foxfire Squadron CO. Below, is a listing of each of the availiable positions as of this time.

--RSCD Second Officer
--Durandal Knights CO

There are several things that I ask of all applicants, as I did in the past in my former command positions. With the exception of the RSCD SO, I ask that you have the will and the determination to lead, and be able to maintain a stable activeness withen the position.

For the Squadron positions, your Wing CO will ask for applications at their discresion.

Other than that, there are only a few other things I look for, but I would like to keep to myself and Corran, just so no one deliberately leaps forward in a skill that they dont really use just to look fancy. :P

--------------------
3. Ideas/Suggestions
--------------------
There were several CO's who said they had quite a few ideas/suggestions that they wanted to give to me after I attained this position. I just wanted to let you know that I am placing a special topic in the RSCD forum in the BBS, where you can post all of your ideas, so that everyone can view them and give their opinions. Please note however, spam will NOT be tolerated in this topic, so that it makes it easier on the CS to locate each of the things.

--------------------
4. RS Tour of Duty
--------------------
It recently came to my attention, that the RSCD is the only Fleet without a set course for the RSTOD, and this is one of the things I would like to have completed first, above all else, so that we have enough time to complete missions for it.

So, I am hereby asking that 'all' of the CO's and XO's of the entire Fleet email me with possible times withen the next two weeks, beginning from Sunday, January 25th, though Sunday, Febuary 8th. When I compile the times of at least 75% of the Command Staff, I will set a date for a Command Staff Meeting, so we can discuss this in full, and attempt to get ideas set in stone.

Logs will be created of the meeting, and emailed to all of those who are unable to make it to the meeting, and those who fail to show up, so this is not required, but it is asked that you attempt to attend.

-------------------

Anyways...I believe that is it for this NL. I'm going to speak to Gambit and see if I can get the last things that he wanted to get done, promotions, etc. and then I can get everything caught up to par next week.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me anytime. Have a great weekend everyone. ":)
