Greetings RSers!
I come to you tonight with very exciting news. The time for Outer Rim Wars 3: The Subterrel Conflict to begin is coming near! Long hours have been spent preparing this competition for you all. For those of you unaware, ORW3 will be a vast multiplayer gaming competition. Joining us in this competition will be a whole host of other clubs, including some of our long-time competitors like the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, the Star Vipers, the Emperor's Hammer, and the Galactic Empire. The official ORW3 website is not very pretty yet, but you can read about the organizations involved in the competition, as well as the rules for scoring, on our wiki page here.
Before the competition itself begins, we will have a massive practice scrimmage. In this scrimmage, all the competing clubs will come together and fight it out. Matches will be reported and scoring will be kept, but this is only for practice purposes. The ORW Council will closely monitor the results of this scrimmage to determine whether 1) scoring is fair and 2) the factions are properly balanced. Clubs will be grouped together in one of three factions: Rebel, Imperial, or Sith. The RS, as you might imagine, will be in the Rebel faction. Fictionally, this scrimmage will be considered a practice simulation on the part of our forces in preparation for the REAL Subterrel Conflict, which will begin when ORW3 officially begins.
What is most important right now is for me to tell you that this practice scrimmage is scheduled for next Sunday, January 21st, between 12 pm and 12 am EST in #Outerrim on the Undernet. A whole host of games will be supported in the scrimmage and later in the actual competition. Please come out and support the RS and indeed the whole Rebel cause! Participation will be rewarded by the Operations Office, and aside from that it will be a good chance to flex your multiplayer muscles and to get a good look at what our competition will be once the competition officially begins.
