Greetings, Members of the RS!
On Sunday, January 21st, the scrimmage for Outer Rim War 3: The Subterrel Conflict was held. The event went smoothly and there were no problems with the rules or the moderation. Special thanks go to Sith Warrior Karel of the Dark Brotherhood, who was the chief moderator of the event. I think we are ready to push on and begin The Subterrel Conflict competition itself! More on that in a minute, but first, a few notes on how the scrimmage went.
I'm a little disappointed in the RS' attendance at the scrimmage. We had three members play matches on Sunday and a few others tried to get matches but could not, but this is very small participation indeed. I hope that participation will be much greater once the competition begins and the fighting is for real and not just practice.
The results have been posted for your viewing pleasure. You will need Microsoft Excel to be able to view the results. I'm happy to report that the Rebel Faction, to which the RS belongs, won the scrimmage by a score of 37 to the 36 of the Imperials and 20 of the Sith. Captain Hyde and Captain Feak Duran represented the RS and in recognition of their participation they have both been awarded an Operational Development Pin. Congratulations Hyde and Feak, and thank you for fighting for the RS! I would also like to briefly recognize LJG Desrik Koryn and LCM Luren "DaLe" Ketan, who showed up and attempted to participate but were not able to find opponents to play against them. Thanks for showing up, guys, and expect much more competition once the practicing is over!
Normally, the conclusion of a battle in The Subterrel Conflict would result in some important shift in the territorial holdings of the Subterrel Sector. This time, however, the battle was merely a practice, so there is nothing to report here. After the competition has begun, you can expect to see a map here detailing which faction owns which system in the sector.
I'm happy to announce that the ORW Council has determined that it's just about time for the competition to start. There were no major problems with the scrimmage and we feel that it is time to move forward. Therefore Outer Rim War 3: The Subterrel Conflict will officially begin on the weekend of February 3rd and 4th and will run both days. More information will be sent to you soon giving specific times and a fictional backstory for the competition. Stay tuned, there is more exciting news to come!
