ORW3:SC Battle 1 Results NL
Greetings, RS Members.
This newsletter brings you the results of the first battle of Outer Rim War 3: The Subterrel Conflict. In summary, the RS had a good turnout at the event, with 11 members getting in matches. There were over 200 matches played this weekend. Despite these good things, I need to tell you all that so far the competition is turning out to be mainly based on the games JO, JA, and BF2. I had really hoped that our XvT pilots and EaW players would be able to participate, but it seems like our opponents do not play those games. The DB, VE, and GE seem to mostly prefer the ground-based shooters I mentioned above, and the EH and SV seem to be defunct and did not show up at the battle at all. So, to be perfectly honest, I would expect to only be able to play JO, JA, or BF2 at the competition for now. I am working to try to get more clubs to join, such as TRA, TFA, and DS, all of which I know play either XvT or EaW. I'll keep you all apprised of how that goes.
The winning faction in Battle 1 was the Sith faction. Happily, the RS and the Rebel faction came in second place. The Imperials placed third. The score was 762-706-653. To see the results sheet, please visit the ORW3 "results" page. Fictionally, this means that the Sith conquered one planetary system in the Subterrel Sector from the Imperials. To check out these fictional results, please look at the ORW3 "maps" page.
As I said earlier, 11 RSers were able to get matches at Battle 1. The top RS participant was Jester, who managed to get in 21 games accounting for 76 points. The top RS scorer was Raven, who brought in 108 points. Here is a listing of all RS participants:
GEN Harley "Jester" Quinn
COM Michael Raven
RA Patrick Blastfire
1LT Joshua Mumishi
MAJ Olith Hesto
MAJ Gavin Starseeker
LJG Odin Vaaj Bruth`Kothae
MGN David "Heavy" Pasiechnyk
LCM Kane "Kay" Dev Redron
CPT Jotheb Tahn
FA Dave Trebonious-Astoris
RS Merits have been updated for all of these individuals. In addition, Operational Development Pins have been awarded to all. Further RS combat medals will follow as the competition continues. Thanks for participating and congratulations to all the RSers who fought!
Battle 2 of the Subterrel Conflict will be next weekend, February 10th and 11th. Again, I want to emphasize that unfortunately we cannot expect very many XvT or EaW matches for right now. I'm sorry that this is the case. I did the best I could to balance factions and get organizations to join the competition, but clearly that wasn't enough. I and several other members of the RS Command Staff are now working hard to try to convince clubs that play these games to join ORW3, but for now, please realize that the easiest matches to find will be JO, JA, and BF2. This means that our Commando Division and Jedi Division should make a serious effort to attend ORW3, because our opponents there are playing their kinds of games!
Go RS!

Meh, tried off and on throughout the day to get a game... but no luck. Maybe this next week I'll get lucky. RA Harley Quinn - Thu Feb 08 2007, 5:48pm
They're just scared of us is all. We should automatically get 1000 extra points each week for complete and total space dominance.
