Hello pilots. There is a lot of multiplayer related information coming out to you guys today, as well as some ITOD related stuff.

1. BSC January WoW’s

The previous two weeks held the XvT and XWA Weeks of War, and I must say that I am greatly impressed by the participation we had this month. We had a total of 12 pilots come out and fly in the competitions. Not only that, but one of these 12 pilots did his 5 games for ranking in the last two hours of the XvT WoW and pulled himself into 9th place in the competition. This particular pilot is the CO of Phalcun Squad, Petr Tagge Margul.

Looking at each of the competitions separately now, the XvT WoW had 12 participants, while the XWA WoW had only 3. Hopefully next month we can see this 3 turn into a much more promising number.

Here are each pilot’s results for the competitions, as well as the medals that they were awarded:

XWA WoW:

CPT Hyde – 7 games (0 wins) – Valiance Combat Citation
CPT Jotheb Tahn – 7 games (2 wins) – Valiance Combat Citation
MAJ Olith Hesto – 1 game (0 wins)

XvT WoW:

MGN Gavin Phalon – 21 games (4 wins) – Anchorhead Key Citation
2LT Desrik Koryn – 18 games (8 wins) – Anchorhead Key Citation
CPT Hyde – 15 games (5 wins) – Heroic Combat Citation
CPT Jotheb Than – 13 games (5 wins) – Heroic Combat Citation
MAJ Gavin Starseeker – 7 games (0 wins) – Valiance Combat Citation
MGN David “Heavy” Pasiechnyk – 5 games (2 wins) – Valiance Combat Citation
GEN Petr Tagge Margul – 5 games (5 wins) – Valiance Combat Citation
MAJ Olith Hesto – 4 games (0 wins) – Valiance Combat Citation
2LT Stoney – 3 games (0 wins)
LGN Chris Horn “Kicks” – 2 games (2 wins)
CMDR Luren “DaLe” Ketan – 1 game (0 wins)
MAJ Keldar “Whisper” Wenn – 1 game (0 wins)

Also, each member has received an Operational Development Pin for the WoW they participated in.

2. Outer Rim War III

This past week we were unable to make a strong showing in the competition, points wise. In fact, we only managed to get three XvT matches in, and they were only inner faction matches (i.e. only Rebel Faction clubs). However this was not to the fault of you guys, the pilots. Over the course of the weekend I saw many of you in the IRC channel looking, asking, and begging for matches, however there were no opponents to fill that desire to fly. So, I commend all of you who showed up on the weekend but were disappointed.

In lieu of this past weekend’s poor turnout, FC Dave and I have contacted two of the major WoW clubs (TRA and TFA) in an effort to invite them to the ORW competition. We have received contact and are currently waiting upon a club wide decision from TRA, and are awaiting word from TFA.

Also, I have decided to bring another one of my back burner projects to a full cook in case the TRA and TFA are not interested. I will be working with my command staff to formulate either a weekend or specific weekday Multiplayer Competition within our own ranks either as practice for or replacement of ORW3 gaming. We won’t have anything prepared yet for this weekend, but over the course of next week I will have a week off from school in which to put down many ideas and formulate some sort of competition with merits, medals, and other fun goodies.

3. VSG 102 and the Overall Merits Board

Currently we are standing at a nice participation level for two weeks in, however this doesn’t mean that you can stop flying and helping your squadron and fellow pilots along. Currently we have a total of 24 pilots having reported on at least one of the two platforms, around 35% of our roster. Overall, we have 30 pilots who have participated in some fashion (built missions, flown multiplayer, or flown in the ITOD).

Current Standings for the ITOD Missions and Merits Board:

VSG 102b Top Ace: MAJ Olith Hesto (Score: 29884)
VSG 102a Top Ace: LGN Chris Horn “Kicks” (Score: 8440)

Top 5 Pilots on the Merits Board:

1. CPT Jotheb Than (44 merits)
2. 2LT Desrik Koryn (43 merits)
3. MGN David “Heavy” Pasiechnyk (43 merits)
4. GEN Petr Tagge Margul (38 merits)
5. MAJ Olith Hesto (34 merits)

Current Squadron Rankings:

1. Dragon Squad (220 merits)
2. Dagger Squadron (123 merits)
3. Resurrection Squadron (83 merits)
4. Phalcun Squadron (65 merits)
5. Ragnarok Squadron (60 merits)
6. Red Dragon Squadron (39 merits)

Currently there is a tight battle for Top Pilot in merits, and Dragon Squadron has a commanding lead thus far into the session. This however, is due to the fact that Dragon already has 7 pilots participating in both the ITOD and MP events, while the other squadrons are holding back thus far with 4 pilots at the most participating in the TOD, and Dagger with 5 MP pilots. So, get out there and start participating!

4. Training Office

One last minute addition to this NL is the VSG Training Office. Jotheb and I are looking for another person to work with the cadets and get them through their requirements. This is generally a fairly light job, especially around this time of year, so it shouldn’t take much effort for doing, but that doesn’t mean you can be lazy in the position. Jobs other than helping cadets are things such as going through the VSG Academy website from time to time to update and fix various pages’ info.

Well, that about sums up what I have for you folks today, so I shall let you go off and do some more flying.

“:)
