Greetings RS Members,

The purpose of this announcement is to honor one of our most dedicated and distinguished gamers. Commodore Michael Raven, while serving as my Executive Officer, has also been extremely active as an Empire at War player. Over the course of numerous competitions, he has earned two New Republic Medals of Honor and an enormous variety of other Combat Medals. He has been the top rated individual in three competitions over at Ecliptical Realms and has led the Rebel Squadrons to be the top rated club twice. He is currently the #1 ranked individual EaW player at ER and is generally acknowledged to have been the best EaW player at ORW3 recently. To cap off these achievements, Raven's lifetime record for official RS-related EaW games is 243-0-2. To be undefeated in so many matches is an indication that he is the best in this particular game.

The New Republic Medal of Honor has always been the RS' highest Combat Medal and only 27 of our members have earned it in the past decade. A few have earned more than one, but Raven has repeatedly exceeded the criteria for the NRMoH and has distinguished himself as the undisputed top player of EaW. Since the NRMoH now can only be awarded once for a particular type of event, RS command recently developed criteria for a medal that has succeeded the NRMoH as the highest Combat Medal. The Coruscant Star of Valor is intended to recognize extreme performance from those who excel in combat over a significant period of time.

And so, I'm proud to award Raven with the Coruscant Star of Valor. The fact that this is the first time that the medal has been awarded makes it an especially important honor. Congratulations, Raven!
