Olith stared out of the Redemption’s view port, gazing upon the endless night that was illuminated only by a few specks of light and the lone planet that hung in the background, like a jewel.
No, nothing that poetic. Just another backwater world, the site of yet another battle. More dead.
The sharp tap of boots on metal startled Olith out of his thoughts. “Commander Hesto, most of the pilots are assembled in the briefing room.”
“Thank you Lieutenant. Tell General Pasiechnyk I’m on my way.”
Not waiting for a reply, Olith headed to the nearest turbolift, so he could get to the debriefing and help Heavy get the pilots up to date.

Greetings pilots! VSG103 has now ended, apologies for the lateness of this newsletter. Let’s crack on, shall we?

Unfortunately the activity was not so good for this mission – with only 41% of the fleet reporting on the mission. Perhaps it was down to the confusion when the mission was launched, with last minute bugs popping up all over and a few different versions of the missions being put up. Or perhaps it’s from classes starting to wind down into finals season. Nevertheless, hopefully the report rate will be much higher for 104.
There was a real lack of narratives this month – a grand total of zero, compared with the 6 from 102.
Medals:
MRM: No one received this, as there were no narratives submitted.
Top Gun: Major Jotheb Tahn with 30 merits. Congrats Jotheb! That’s the second time you’ve won, keep it up. All drinks on him!
Top Squadron: Dragon Squad with 134, Resurrection Squad in second with 124. Another win for Dragon Squadron, although it was not so close this time. Maybe next month another squadron will be able to knock them from the top spot?
b. VSG 104
VSG has had a long delay this month due to a large number of factors. First and foremost of these factors is that many of us have had a few changes in our RL schedules that cut into our time preparing for the mission. Also, we are slowly training up a couple new builders for the XWA platform, and if you’ve ever had the (dis)pleasure of trying to work with AlliED, you know that it is a formidable program to try and understand. The intended release date will be sometime between Saturday the 14th and Monday the 16th.
2. MP Activity
As I’m sure you’re all aware, the ORWIII came to an unexpectedly early end this month, with the Rebel Alliance faction left as the default winners. Congratulations to everyone that took part, although I’m aware the competition was rather short on opponent pilots. Still, we won! Also with the end of the ORWIII, the ICTE will now start up again. Check IRC every Saturday, in #outerrim for opponents.
I’d like to make a special mention about MGN Phil Darkfire at this point – he flew the most MP this month, with a total of 12 competitive matches between the ORW and the XWA WoWs.
BSC WoW Awards: These had a large delay in awarding due to a small lack in time, some “I forgot” syndrome, and some confusion. However, all are awarded and here they are for you to observe.

The next XvT WoW shall be starting on Friday, April 20, 2007 and will run for a week, after which will be the XWA WoW starting on the 27th of April. Heavy will sign up the club as soon as the competitions are posted on BSC, and he has a moment to spare.
Another event that is coming up that is hosted on BSC, is the 10th Anniversary of XvT competition. It runs from April 27th to May 4th and your general WoW rules apply. Let’s go celebrate the game with everyone else!

CPT Hyde – Over the past few months Hyde has shown his strong dedication to being an active presence in the fleet and his squadron. He consistently has a strong showing in Multiplayer competitions and in multiplayer gaming when it’s just for fun. As Phil’s XO in Resurrection Squadron he has been showing his worth by constantly prodding and poking at him about various squadron activities. So, with MGN Phil’s nomination, and my approval, I hereby promote CPT Hyde to the rank of Major. Congratulations Hyde.
4. Upcoming Internal MP Competition
Olith and I are slowly crunching down on a competition. When we have things sorted out, and I get past my final exams, hopefully we can present to you guys something extra to do for some MP merits and awards.
5. Closing
Overall, we’ve had a bit of a slower month. There was less activity on both SP and MP fronts. And there are a great many things which have contributed to this I am sure. So, with a bit more patience, we’ll be seeing VSG 104 and hopefully our participation will boom once again. Also, I (Heavy) will be buying myself a new joystick in the next few days, so I'll be looking for some people to fly with me to test it out.
