Greetings members of the Rebel Squadrons!

I have been recently appointed as RS Training Officer and I intend to (re-)build the Rebel Squadrons' Academy (short: RSA). The reason why I am writing you all is that I will be now looking for dedicated RS members who will help me to form the backbone of the future RSA.

To get an idea on how the future RSA will about look like, please have a look here:

http://wiki.rebelsquadrons.org/Academy

The outline on the link above should give you a basic idea on how the RSA structure is intended to look like. If you should have any questions before you decide to apply for a RSA spot, feel free to contact me.

At the current state of things, I am looking for:
a) Assistant Training Officers
I expect that I will appoint two ATOs as RSA XO and SO. Those two persons will help me to make the RSA a working unit, maintain general RSA issues and suppport departement COs as needed and possible.
The number of ATO spots isn't limited to 2 though. I expect that most ATOs would act firstly or only as Primary Instructors.

and/or
b) COs for the Training Departements
A Training Departement's CO will need to set up or supervise the basic courses and structure for his/her departement within the guidelines provided by the RSA CO. Each Training Departement (short TD) for the games should have a fictional side, so if an applicant for these positions has interest in the RS fictional side, it will be appreciated.
Please note that I don't expect a TD CO to be the best of the best in the area of his/her TD. A TD CO will need to be able to create an enviroment in his/her TD where eg. a very good player will be able to hold a course for advanced students.

A TD CO should have as much creative freedom as possible as long we stick to the same course awards/structure and fictional issues.

A few words on each TD:

1) BP TD
I expect to appoint an ATO for the CO position of this TD, so please apply for the ATO position if you should be interested in this spot.

2) Flight Sims TD
An applicant for this TD CO spot should be an active member of at least one flight sim fleet.

3) MP Games TD
An applicant for this TD CO spot should have knowledge of MP for at least one non-flight sim game.

4) Mission Building TD
An applicant for this TD CO spot should have basic knowledge on at least one flight sim mission builder. Besides supervising the education of new mission builder, a future CO of this TD will need to supervise (and eventually take part in) the creation of training missions for the Flight Sims TD.
These missions should take place within the RSA fictional background and will therefore be necessary to coordinate with the fictional TD and the instructor for a given course.

5) Officer Training School (OTS)
An applicant for the OTS CO spot should have experience in at least one CO spot within a fleet, ideally on a long term basis. Futher requirement is basic knowledge of the RS structure and current RS activities.
I have some ideas on improvements, so I expect that I will discuss the Officer training issues first with any applicants before I appoint on.

6) Integrated Technologies TD
An applicant for this TD CO spot should have at least basic knowledge of coding issues.
Ideally the IT TD will be able to provide the RSA and its TDs with a webpresence once most TDs will have their courses set up.

7) Fictional TD
An applicant for this TD CO spot should have interest in and basic knowledge of the RS/SW fictional background.
This TD should aim to provide courses to bring the RS fiction closer to our members and to provide the RSA and its game TDs with fictional background, so that a new member can be a part of the RS fiction as soon a s/he joins us on Tarsonis (if s/he wants to).

So, if you should be interested in helping me with the RSA as an ATO or in generally, please apply for the ATO spot here:

http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/jobs/

If you are interested in a certain TD CO spot, please send me an email with a resume on your past RS experience, qualifications for the spot and why you would like to work as TD CO.

All applicants, please include in your application:
-a summary of the RS supported games you own/play
-your timezone
-a realistic summary of how often and what times you are usually online

Now, you might be interested in helping with the RSA, but you don't feel sure about the current RSA CO, me. A few words about my RS past and activities to give you an idea:

I joined the RS in February '06 as member of the former Renegade Fleet for XvT. There I have been a squad XO and the XO of the Undergrade Wing. I have been appointed as RID CO last summer, as CD CO last October and I have been taking care of CDTs for both divisions for about the same time.
Currently, I want to aim my efforts on the build up of the RSA.

On a side-note for all those who were interested enough to read until here, after we finish the first draft phase of appointing TD COs and ATOs, we will start looking for course instructors and TD staff as needed, but feel free to apply already now to speed up the process.

I'll be looking forward to your applications.

I am new to the RS main club, but have been in SWG for over a year and a half. I'm in the Zealot group as well. I don't know if any of that would qualify me to help, but one thing I'm not sure of is all the acronyms, so I'm not entirely certain if I'm a fit or not.

Maybe there should be someone to represent SWG, as it's going through some pretty exciting changes and there appears to be more to come.

Hello. Thank you for your interest - that's what's needed in the first place. :)

Although you might be in need of some training to take on an active role in the RS Academy, I don't see a problem with that. Please send me an email with an overview of what your skills and interests are in. I am sure we will be able to put you to work. :)

As for SWG, I certainly would appreciate if we could host a course for new members playing SWG. I believe that would go a long way in actually making Vanguard more interacting with the RS and making it easier for new members to orientate (especially if they sign up for SWG and another game).
Btw, I actually couldn't resist and I bought SWG - The complete online adventures, so you could actually already act as my instructor to get me going in SWG and we could make up a course for that during the process. ;)
