Greetings, Members of the Rebel Squadrons!

Welcome to the June installment of the State of the Rebel Squadrons! It's hard to believe that the month of June is already over. July brings many changes, including hotter weather and, for many people, vacations. I myself am in the middle of getting used to visiting my parents at their house, which is quite a change from living by myself 1,800 miles away. No matter what transitions you are going through in the coming month, I hope the RS will continue to be a part of your life. Summer can be rough on overall RS participation and activity since people have so many other things to do, but we're still here, offering the same quality Star Wars-based entertainment that we have during colder weather. Stay awhile, and listen!

II. High Command News

No major changes to report on the High Command roster. HC is the same body this month as it was last month. We're still waiting for CMDR Olith Hesto to select a VSG XO. Also like last month, HC has not had any discussions recently as its services have not been required. This of course does not mean that your leaders are doing nothing. Everybody who sits on HC has duties elsewhere in the RS. HC discussions are merely a council-type meeting of those leaders, and such meetings are rarely needed.

III. Fleet & Division News Shorts

Patriot Battle Fleet: Tour 7 is currently in its tenth mission. I know PBF CO Josh Hawkins was hoping for more reports on 709 than he received, so hopefully PBF pilots will step it up for a big run of reports for 710. I have already reported on these missions and can tell you that they involve plenty of tricky dogfighting. If you like taking down Tie Avengers in your B-Wing, then boot up the X-Wing mission.

Vigilance Starfighter Group: VSG105 is still available, with a due date of July 8th. There have not been many reports yet, unfortunately. Command Staff hopes pilots will fly, as many man hours of effort were put into the creation of the 105 missions. The VSG is still awaiting a newsletter from its CO, Olith Hesto, as well. I am in the midst of trying to find out what has happened to Olith and hope to have an answer for the fleet soon. Stay tuned.

Allegiance Battle Group: ABG CO Michael Raven is extremely happy to note that activity in the fleet is at record-high levels that haven't been seen in at least five years. Raven wishes to personally thank Josh, Sconn, Rhu, Carl, Markus, and all others who have made this impressive resurgence possible. Just goes to show that summer does not have to mean slow time!

Redemption Fleet: In Righteous Indignation Division, the unit CO, Luren "DaLe" Ketan recently resigned. RF CO Harley "Jester" Quinn just hours ago appointed LGN Cyrel Vandroth as the new RID CO. The RID tour continues and is currently on 105, matching the VSG missions. It is a slugfest between two Star Destroyers. LCM Reb Jaxra has recently taken command of the Commando Division. Zealot remains one of the most active units of the RS, with plenty of writing being done on its forums.

IV. Executive Projects

As usual, writing fiction has been a major past-time of the RS Command Staff. I am one narrative behind on the FC narratives, so you can expect the next installment of that series soon. Raven, in addition to his excellent RS-wide narrative stories, is writing quite a bit for Zealot. We'll also have a special edition FC narrative coming out in early July by a guest writer of the Executive Staff. Keep yours eyes peeled!

Logistics Officer David Vaughan has been searching eagerly for more assistants to help in the Logistics Office on his innumerable projects. He keeps busy and has a massive plan for the future direction of RS fictional continuity. He is well on the way to transforming the RS wiki into a massive database of pertinent fictional information. See his news announcement here if you would like to help him out.

Training Officer Luren "DaLe" Ketan is hard at work putting together the new RS Academy. The bones of the academy are beginning to take shape, with staff being added and the frame of a roster being created in our roster database. Dale recently resigned his other command positions to focus on this project, and we can expect to see much progress in this area soon.

Chief Recruiting Officer Damon Lightwind continues his efforts to draw in new RS members. He is trying to put together a recruiting video and is also searching for a new assistant to help him out. See his announcement here.

I have done some updating of the Greeop Defense Force in the RS wiki, to reflect the addition of the Strike Cruiser Halberd and Corvette Shadowblen to that task group. The ships are somewhat new and don't have much history yet, but their pages are pretty.

Logistics Officer David Vaughan has kept up one of his pet projects: giving every character on the wiki more complete information, including an infobox and a fictional birthdate. If your character sheet on the wiki is lacking these things, ask him for help and he'd jump at the opportunity!

V. Recognitions

Major General David Vaughan's name tends to pop up a lot in these addresses and in most other news announcements that we send out. That's because Vaughan simply spends a lot of time on RS-related things. He is of course the driving force behind RS-wide fiction in general and the RS-wide ITOD in particular. In addition to planning out that massive storyline and making sure it comes together each month, he spends loads of time on the background details. Beyond all this, he's simply a genuinely nice guy. Seriously, we can't say enough good things about him. Promotion is a small compensation for all the time and energy he puts into the RS, so it's the least we can do. Vaughan, you are hereby promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General. Congratulations, and thank you from a grateful RS! ":)

VI. Miscellaneous Notes

RS Wiki: This month's RS Wiki page of the month is "Kaitlyn Marie Anderson". This is the character page for RSXO Michael Raven's Zealot character, and wins page of the month because it has a character infobox, neat bio, and very cool weapons load out. The wiki is a webpage that anybody can edit. Feel free to make your own pages about information pertinent to your character, your unit, or even the RS as a whole!

Congratulations: To Reb on his appointment as CD CO, Cyrel on his appointment as RID CO, Dale on his Iridium Spire, and to Seeks for placing Top Gun in both PBF 709 missions.

Please do feel free to contact me if you have questions about anything going on in the RS, would like to be more involved, or have ideas. You all have my email address. My door is always open. Have a great and safe summer!
