VSG Newsletter 8-27-2007

Greetings once again pilots. I was sitting at my comp and realized that I still had to get a NL out for this month. However, while we are still in middle of a mission, this will be relatively short.

I. VSG 106

As I said in the greeting, this mission is still underway until Friday, August 31st. Please, if you haven’t already, make an attempt to fly. I would like to see at least a 50% activity rate, especially considering all the people not marked as: LOA, Semi-LOA, Reserve, or AWOL. Also, narratives are due by Sept. 7 because this gives you a week away from flying to think and write.

II. Multiplayer

Well, there is an XWA WoW going on, but we’re not even signed up. ::shrugs:: Anyway, feel free to fly some of your mates on IRC in #vsg. Also, I believe the ICTE still takes place in #outerrim on Saturdays. Remember: MP matches are chances for merits. If you fly one, please report it.

III. Promotions/Medals

Promotions: Recently, I promoted Heavy to the rank of full General. I also, I believe that RnK CO, Gavin Starseeker was promoted to full Commander in PBF. Congrats to both of you.

No medals at this time.

IV. Current Events.

Well, just to let you all know, there’s a lot going on behind the scenes with revamping the Command Staff. A Command Staff AWOL check was conducted a short while ago with drastic results. MGN Phil Darkfire resigned as Rza CO. Upon his recommendation, I have appointed MAJ Hyde to replace him. Phil, thank you for your time and dedication. Hyde, I know you’re going to do a great job. The search is on right now for new COs for both Dragon and Phalcun. Right now I am extending those positions to the respective members of these great squadrons. Should no one apply, or I feel the applicants are not adequately prepared, I will open these positions to the rest of the fleet. The purpose of this whole thing with the CS is to provide you with a stable command staff that’s going to work for YOUR benefit.

V. Closing

That’s all I have for now. Stay tuned for further developments. It’ll probably be about a week after the narrative deadline before I get the 106 results out to you. Fly fast, and shoot straight. I’ll see you back at base.
