I. ITOD

As you undoubtedly are aware, we are but a few days away from the VSG 107 deadline. For those of you who have turned in your reports, I thank you. For those who haven’t, please get those reports in ASAP. Looking at activity compared to 106, if the mission were due today, our activity level would be taking a severe drop. Let’s see if we can correct that between now and this Friday.

II. Multiplayer

Well, in case you haven’t heard, the October XvT WoW is currently underway. Also, the Pre-XWA WoW training session, hosted by TFA, is active, providing pilots a training platform for next weeks XWA WoW. So, with plenty of opportunities to fly, get in there and make the VSG proud!

Speaking of the XWA WoW, this will not be just any WoW. This will be a history making event. Pilots, this will be the 100th XWA WoW. There should be lots of pilots, new and old, in attendance to make this the most memorable XWA WoW ever. The RS is signed up, so let’s leave our mark!

Now, it is time to recognize the 3 pilots who participated in the XvT WoW for September. So, without further ado, here are the medals that were awarded earlier this week by the RS Medals Office.

September XvT WoW

Heroic Combat Citation
GEN David “Heavy” Pasiechnyk

Valiance Combat Citation
COL Luren “Dale” Ketan

Operational Development Pin
GEN David “Heavy” Pasiechnyk
COL Luren “Dale” Ketan

III. Promotions/Special Recognition

Well, I have a couple of items to address here. First off, a little recognition.

Lieutenant Colonel Galic Mars, since being appointed to the XO spot, has not only followed my instructions, but he has also stepped out on his own initiative to try to generate activity by sending out a couple of Fleet-level emails. Personally, I like a subordinate who shows some initiative. Galic, you have my personal thanks for the wonderful job you’ve done so far. Keep up the good work!

Now, for a well-deserved promotion:

Lieutenant General David Vaughan. During my 3 months as VSG CO, I have seen the importance of what you do. The thing that has had the most impact on the VSG is your running of the RS TacOps. It is through TacOps that all VSG missions must be tied together with the overall RS storyline, and you do an excellent job of it. Also, you run the RS Logistics Office, doing important stuff like maintaining fictional continuity throughout not one but now two different campaigns. You also act as a voting member of High Command as an Alderman. On top of all of your other duties, you still manage to fly the missions. Due to your dedication to your duties and the tremendous impact your work has on the VSG and RS as a whole, I hereby promote you to the rank of full General. Congratulations!

IV. Current Events

Currently, the command staff is attempting to tackle some important issues. One of these issues is the possible formation of a new MP competition. Another of these issues is additional medals in order to promote activity. More will be forthcoming as it is available.

V. Closing

Well, I’m not real pleased about the current level of activity, so let’s try to step that up some. Also, the command staff will continue to knock around ideas to increase the enjoyment factor for everyone. Until next time, fly fast and shoot straight.
