VSG Newsletter 12/31/2007

Greetings pilots,

I had almost forgotten about this, so let’s see if I can get it out before the end of the year (at least in the US) :P

I. ITOD

As I’m sure you are aware, the results for 108 have been posted and the appropriate medals awarded. The merits breakdown can be found at http://vsg.rebelsquadrons.org/MeritReports/December16thMerits.xls. Please note that the squad total for Dagger is a little higher than reported in the released results. This is due to an error on my part that I was made aware of a short time latter which caused the increase. The amount at the link above is the correct amount. However, there was no change in the overall rankings, so the medals stand as they are. Do know that I have yet to update the merits board, which I will probably do tomorrow.

Also, 109 is currently underway and is due January 26, 2008 at 11:59:59 EST (GMT -5). Narratives are due a week later on February 2, 2008 at 11:59:59 EST (GMT -5). It was good to see another squadron besides Dragon and Ragnarok step up in 108. Let’s see who else steps up as we go into the new year.

II. Multiplayer

Well, as unusual as it sounds, I have some good news to share on the MP front. If you’ve seen the RS main page, then you no doubt know about the December Missions War. For those who haven’t read it, we won the event! Our 3 pilots to everyone else’s 7-15 (or there abouts) pilots, and we annihilated them. As I’ve made mention before, the Missions Wars are our playground. There, you fly one of the original XvT missions in MP, either in VS or Co-op mode. Seeing as how it’s mission-based instead of duels, it fits with the playing style of our SP campaigns.

III. Closing

Yes, I know this is a short NL, but that’s all I have this time. Honest. Except to tell you all that I am very proud and very honored to be your CO. It’s not every day that you get to lead the best XvT and XWA pilots in the world, and I’ve been able to do it for the past 5 months. I would like to thank everyone who’s supported me and helped me along the way. I’m having the time of my life. :D

Until next time, fly fast, shoot straight, and live to tell about it.

Happy New Year!
