In his office aboard the Redemption, Brigadier General Kirghy Lommax looked over the scattered reports on his desk. One was the casualty report. Another was a repair report for their damaged fighters, and still another detailed squadron and pilot performance. All in all, they had done very well, defeating the Rogue Imperial faction at the Battle of the Raygss Nebula. Forcing the Imperials to withdraw from the sector, it was time for the RS forces to return home for much needed rest and repairs. If they could get it. Reports suggested that the situation in the Greeop Sector was still bad with RS forces stretched too thin to adequately defend against all attacks. Still, they were going home. A few militants and pirates shouldn’t be much for a well-trained, battle-hardened group like the VSG…..

VSG Newsletter
July 20, 2008

Greetings Pilots,

My apologies for the tardiness of this newsletter. I’ve been reading lately, and when I read, I focus on just reading. So, let’s just get to it, shall we?

1. ITOD
a. VSG 112
b. Tour 2
2. MP activity
3. Promotions
4. Current Events
5. Closing

I. ITOD
a. VSG 112

Well, activity among active pilots, according to the Merits Calculator, was up to 53%. Not bad considering the slow start and some technical problems with the updated BoP Patch. Overall, a good mission and a decent end of the tour.

Now, for the results:

Renegade Cup: Although there was a higher score than his on the KB, it wasn’t a Mission Complete. So, for the second mission in a row, the Renegade Cup goes to VA Tyrell "Spokes" Borran. Congrats Spokes on a job well done!

Intrepid Cup: This time, the Intrepid Cup goes to someone who’s not a Dagger. :P CPT Olias, congratulations for your outstanding run for 112A! I hereby award you the Intrepid Cup.

Mission Report Medal: none

Top Gun: Well, well, well. For the second straight mission, I am proud to announce that the Top Gun for 112 is CMDR Brig Dolaree with 22 points! The break came with Brig’s completion of 10 Historical Missions to go along with his 112 runs. Second was Himm with 13 followed by a tie between Hyde and Spokes with 12.

Top Squadron: It should come as no surprise which squadron came out on top. Once again, Dagger takes top honors with 156 points followed by, surprise, surprise, Red Dragon with 79 and Ragnarok with 71. Congrats Daggers (again)!

b. Tour 2

VSG 112 is now over, meaning that VSG Tour 1 is completed and, as soon as I upload the merit sheets, is in the books. Now we have about a week until Tour 2 begins. This tour’s going to be a little different. We’re headed home to help the Patriots and GDF secure the homefront. Lots of shooting at pirates and such.

II. Multiplayer

Since there was no activity that I am aware of on the MP front, that must mean that there weren’t any events we actually cared about. Hopefully another Missions War will be posted soon.

III. Promotions/Special Recognition

None at this time. I’ll do that in the End of Tour celebration.

IV. Current Events

HC is busy discussing some sweeping changes to the Bylaws. I think these are some good changes and are much needed. Also, I am planning on bring an issue or two before the CS for discussion.

V. Closing

That’s all I have for now. The End of Tour stuff and Tour 2 should be out by next weekend. Until next time, fly fast, and shoot straight. I’ll see you back at base.
