a. VSG 201
201 didn’t turn out quite as well as I had hoped, but considering the initial turnout, I’m happy that it improved to a little above 51% in SP activity from what looked to be a dismal turnout.
Now, for the results:
Renegade Cup: Much like 112, there was another name at the top of the KB that wasn’t a Mission Complete. As a result, I hereby award the Renegade Cup to COM David “Heavy” Pasiechnyk.
Intrepid Cup: Looks like Dagger’s taking this one over again. For having the highest MC score for 202a, I award the Intrepid Cup to LCL Richo.
Mission Report Medal: For turning in the only narrative for 201, I award the MRM for this mission to COM David “Heavy” Pasiechnyk
Top Gun: This mission appears to be the “Let’s see how many medals Heavy can get” mission. With a total of 25 merit points, the Top Gun goes to COM David “Heavy” Pasiechnyk. Following Heavy are Spokes with 16 and Himm with 11.
Top Squadron: Again, no big shake-up here. Dagger takes the Top Squadron honors with 172 merits followed by Ragnarok with 91 and Red Dragon with 54.
b. VSG 202
Not exactly sure when it will be released, but 202 is in the works. Things didn’t quite move as quickly as hoped due to a delay in getting the mission outline the builders as it hadn’t been made as of the time of Vaughan’s departure. However, I know that the 203 outline is already under development and is hopefully close to completion.
II. Multiplayer
Not a whole lot of activity here. Out of September’s events, I think we only had 1 match by an RSer. Also, you’ll notice once the merits breakdown is loaded to the VSG History page that there are 2 pilots listed with MP points. That is because one pilot earned points for the last mission, but it was not known until afterwards. Thus, the points were added to this mission. They did not affect the outcome..
III. Promotions/Special Recognition
First, Dagger Squadron has accomplished the feat of garnering 100% of active pilot participation. For their hard work, I award them the Vigilance Dagger.
Finally, there comes a time when someone does something really special in a mission that makes you take notice. Something that may well be considered “impossible” to do. VSG 202a was released with what turned out to be a fatal error in Flight Group goals that prevented everyone that tried it from completing it until it was fixed. Well, everyone except 1 particular pilot. For managing to complete VSG 202a before it was fixed and doing what no one else was able to do, I hereby award LGN Chris “Kicks” Horn with the very first Vigilance Flying Cross. Congratulations, Kicks!
IV. Current Events
AWOL check is underway for the entire Division. If you are unaware of this, please check your Inbox. You should see my initial email about it complete with details. Those who participated in 201 or are listed as LOA or Semi-LOA do not need to worry about this. All others must contact me by the end of Tuesday, October 28, 2008.
V. Closing
That’s all I have for now. VSG 202 should be out soon. Until next time, fly fast, and shoot straight. I’ll see you back at base.
