Greetings Pilots,
3.01 is, obviously, over and done with. Now we get to the results followed by a very special announcement.

Alright, now we get to the good part. Let’s award some medals!
Renegade Cup: Well, the Renegade Cup race this time was VERY close. In fact, it came down to 20 points. Congratulations to the winner of this very close race, CMDR Kane “Kid” Dev Redron, who beat his fellow Dragon RA David “Heavy” Pasiechnyk in what is probably the closest race ever in VSG history. Congrats, Kane!
Intrepid Cup: This mission provided quite a few high scores, but it’s the 4th place score that gets the Intrepid Cup. Congratulations to MGN Ton Matty for having the highest MC score for the XWA mission. Way to go, Ton!
Mission Report Medal: This time, a couple of pilots battled it out, but there can be only one. It was close, but seeing as one pilot’s second narrative came after the deadline (silly me forgot to lock the topic) and the other pilot’s narrative was more in line with the mission, the MRM goes to CPT Strike Adrella-Highwing. Congrats, Strike!
Top Gun: Well, there was an interesting turn of events for Top Gun. In the end, by technical definition, I am the Top Gun. However, due to my position as CO, I am also ineligible to be Top Gun. As a result, we have a tie. So, without further preamble, congratulations to RA David “Heavy” Pasiechnyk and MGN Ton Matty with 12 points followed by LCL Naes Draw with 10. Excellent job, guys!
Top Squadron: The race this time around was quite close by recent standards with Dagger taking top honors with 105 points followed by Dragon with 70 and Phalcun with 66. Congratulations Dagger on your hard-earned victory!
II. Promotions/Special Recognition
In the past few months, it’s become apparent to me that I made a smart choice by selecting LCL Richo to be the XO. He’s been working hard, even when moving, to conduct necessary roster checks and attempt to keep me going. Combine this with his last successes as Dagger CO and it becomes readily apparent that he deserves some reward. As a result, I hereby promote Richo to the rank of full Colonel. Congratulations, Richo!
III. Special Announcement
Now for my special announcement:
Effective immediately, I hereby retire as VSG CO and pilot. I have reached the point where I just can’t be bothered to do stuff to keep the VSG going as it ought. COL Richo will be Acting CO until such a time as FC Raven either chooses to make the position permanent or appoints someone else to the position. I will stay around to help Richo (or whoever Raven ends up appointing) with things until things are well in hand, including site updates, merits, posting missions, and other et cetera items. Also, Richo will be representing the VSG on High Command. Everyone, show your support for Richo as he works to make the VSG the best it can be and with changes presented in the upcoming RS reorganization.
Right now, I just want to thank Heavy, Himm, Spokes, Galic, Kicks, Richo, Naes, Kane, jcmcgoo, Brig, Hyde, Olias, Seeks, Swifty, and Bonaparte for being willing to be part of the logistic and command structure for the VSG. We couldn’t have done anything without your willingness to volunteer to make missions, train cadets, and lead units.
I also want to thank each and every one of you, my pilots, for your support and for participating as much as you’ve been able. What we got done, from the ITODs to the Summer Ladder, we did for you.
Just over 2 ½ years ago, then-FC FA Dave Trebonious-Astoris appointed me as CO. Now, it’s time for me to leave. I made a promise to myself that I would step down when I became ineffective. I have now done so. So, goodbye, and good luck.
May The Force Be With You All!
