Dry Run 2 Results 3-13-11

Well, I’m sure by now you are all wondering about the results of Dry Run 2. In that case, no need to keep you waiting. Let’s start with the platform-specific medals.

Platform-Specific Awards

First, let me say that I’ve had to make a fairly difficult decision about the top medals for our gaming platforms. While I would love to give everyone who participated a chance at these medals, I also understand that the perception of fairness must be preserved. As such, I am declaring the builders of each mission ineligible for the platform medals. This will affect the Patriot, Retribution, and Righteous Indignation Cups. With that said, here are the medals.

Renegade Cup:
The winner of the Renegade Cup completed the XvT mission with a Mission Complete score of 57,325, topping the second place pilot by over 10k. As a result of his exemplary show of skill, I present the Renegade Cup to MAJ Jay Forerunner. Congratulations, Jay!

Intrepid Cup:
The winner of the Intrepid Cup is a pilot I’ve seen to the XWA killboard many times when I was VSG CO. With a Mission Complete score of 25,515, I present the Intrepid Cup to BGN Richo. Congratulations, Richo!

Patriot Cup:
The Patriot Cup isn’t so cut and dried as the rest due to the top pilot being the mission builder, ADM Castor Efrata-Landis. As a result, I present the Patriot Cup to ADM Tyrell “Spokes” Borran. Spokes kept it close, being fewer than 1500 away from Castor. Congratulations, Spokes!

Retribution Cup:
Well, I guess Castor decided to double dip this go ‘round (My fault. I didn’t fly the TIE mission this time. ;) ). In any case, I have to give the Retribution Cup to someone else, namely MGN Damon Lightwind. Damon also gave Castor a run for his money, also coming within 1500 points of Castor’s score. Congratulations, Damon!

Righteous Indignation Cup:
Another case of the mission builder coming in first. At least it’s me this time. That makes presenting to someone else a bit easier for me to do. That “someone else” would be none other than RA Kyle Tobarn. I don’t know how many runs Kyle made, but he got within 2 points of my own score. Congratulations, Kyle!

Allegiance Cup:
Well, this time around it was really easy to find the top simmer for the club. This member not only GMed some sims during the Dry Run, he also stepped up to provide leadership while most of the ABG CS was away on leave and Sconn was busy working with me on the Reorg. As a result, I am proud to present the Allegiance Cup to BGN Eric Skrevski. Congratulations, Eric!

Aurora Cup:
After looking at the different fiction submissions that were made during the Dry Run, I feel that there is one person that stands out among the rest. I am pleased to award the Aurora Cup to MAJ Jay Forerunner. Congratulations, Jay!

Redemption Cup:
The Redemption Cup is award for platforms not covered by the other platform-specific awards. Due to the countless matches of Halo: Reach and a couple of matches of Star Trek: Armada II, I award the Redemption Cup to VA David “Heavy” Pasiechnyk. Congratulations, Heavy!

Ok, that finishes off the platform-specific medals. Now for the club medals.

Mission Report Medal:
After reading all of the submitted narratives, it really came down to 2 people. Out of those 2, the RS Mission Report Medal is awarded to MAJ Jay Forerunner. Jay, congratulations once again!

In order to make the Top Gun more fair, the decision was made to have one for SP and one for MP. Also, the RS Command Staff is ineligible for the Top Gun(s). Let’s see who won this time.

RS Top Gun (Single Player):
For earning a combined total of 8 SP points, I hereby award the first RS Top Gun for Single Player activity to CMDR Tá'Ré Djo. Congratulations, Ray!

RS Top Gun (Multiplayer):
For earning a total of 12.3 in MP points, I hereby award the first RS Top Gun for Multiplayer activity to BGN Eric Skrevski. Congratulations, Eric!

RS Top Squadron:
Ok, here’s the big, overall prize: Top Squadron. We had several Squadrons that stood tall among the rest, but only one can be the champion. With a total of 38.7 points, I am proud to award the RS Top Squadron to Red Dragon Squadron. Congratulations, Red Dragons!

Well, that’s all for the Dry Run 2 results. I appreciate all of the help with participation and reporting things that needed to be fixed. I hope everyone had a fun time with it, and I look forward to seeing what happens next time.
