Greetings to the Rebel Squadrons,

You have one more week for the current period of activities, until Sunday July 31 at 11:59pm. Renegade Squadron is leading the charge (see here) but they can still be overtaken!

For single-player gamers, the main mission deadlines are now past, but there is a special one-week competition starting now (see below). The following are the areas in which everyone can contribute:

1) Multi-player activity (report here) including simming, XvT, XWA, EaW.

2) Narratives for single-player missions still accepted.

3) Create a Star Wars sport - you can make this as absurd as you like. For one, I plan to create "Sair Bowling", details to come. Posts go here.

4) Special one-week event: fly the first mission in the original X-Wing! Tour 1, Mission 1. You all know it as the famous defect.xwi which we continually substitute out in order to fly our own missions, but this once, let's revisit this gem from February 1993. We'll award one point for participating, another one for a Mission Complete, two more for the top scorer, and one more for a review! You can download the mission and report here. Give it a shot even if you don't normally play X-Wing. Both "Classic" and "New" missions on X-Wing 95 are the same version.

And sometime this week, please check your "games played" listing on the RS site, so that we have an accurate way of contacting people in the future about special events tied to certain games.

Forward!

For those of us with Xwing 95, is that the classic mission or the newer version?

Great question, Brig! I forgot about that aspect of X-Wing 95.

As it turns out, the two versions of the mission are exactly the same in X-Wing 95, so either one is fine. If in doubt, download the "defect.xwi" from the Mission Database, which is a backup of the original DOS mission. Thanks!
