=== CO's Ramble ===

Well, a new scoring session is imminent and we're nearing the end of 2011. I don't know what 2012 will bring beyond theories about the end of the world and such, but it should be an interesting ride. As Gold's new CO I hope to keep the squadron going strong throughout the new year, and with JC as our XO that should be an easy feat. Happy holidays, folks. Go for the Gold!

As this year comes to a close and the final holiday season comes upon us. I would like to say that it is an honor serving with you all even though I do not know you all as much as I would like to as My RL has taken some turns this year that hopefully will let me spend more time on with the RS in one form or another. I pray that you all have an awesome and safe Christmas. If you don't celebrate Christmas may you have a safe holiday season celebrating what you celebrate.

=== Squadron Status ===

Given this potentially busy time of year, I'm extending the AWOL check until January 1st. I've still not heard from Anubis or Domeno, but did find Gumbo on IRC. Everyone else is accounted for.

=== Activity ===

While we only saw activity from three members this session, it was an impressive amount. Well flown!

Let's see some activity from the rest of the squadron for the new session! End date is February 4th.

None to announce at this time. However, FBK and Interlink both joined the RS during the last session and have already reached the rank of captain. Excellent job, guys!

CPT InterlinkKnight: for your impressive feat of flying 100 multiplayer matches in one session, I nominate you for the Merit Commendation, which Josh has just awarded. Congratulations!

=== Activity of the Session ===

Taking the cue from the Red Dragons, Gold's activity of the session will be to write fiction. Write about whatever your RS character might be up to. Recent activities, a specific event in the character's life, playing a practical joke on another member, etc. If you're into simming with the ABG you can alternately pick any of the characters you've created for that. Yes, even dead ones. The fiction must be at least 300 words, but can otherwise be as long as you want. You'll receive 1 activity point for participating and an additional point for more than 600 words in your fiction. Very long works may be eligible for more points.

The deadline for fiction submissions will be January 28th. The final week of the session will be for voting on the best piece of fiction, with a vote deadline of February 4th. Every member of the squadron gets a vote, but you cannot vote for yourself! The author receiving the most votes will be nominated for the Citation of Victory.
