A few of us have been working on consolidating our Social Media presence. One key feature that remained lacking was a cohesive vision among the platforms.
We have a thriving Google+ community that loves our posts from various sections of Star Wars-ia and have come to view the RS as a funny outlet on G+ for all things Star Wars related (by follower count, we are currently the largest Star Wars Organization on G+).
That niche, while a wonderful gateway drug, doesn't properly reflect the fictional richness, characters, and the real life people behind them. Our team saw the Facebook page as a wonderful way to bridge the gap between the casual G+ world and the sometimes daunting world of hitting the site directly.
The RS Facebook page will have some overlap in content, but will be focusing much more strongly on our "World."
PLEASE GO 'Like' it ASAP and enjoy the content that emerges:
The Rebel Squadrons Facebook Page
Please note, this is a completely different venture from our Facebook Group. The Facebook Page is basically a 'brand,' where as the Group is more of a place for us all to reunite, hang, etc. The Page features allow for more robust interaction with non-members, so I apologize if any toes are stepped on, but the goals are quite different among the two and I can't quite pull off what I want to do with the Group Page.
I think there's room enough on the internet for both to coexist.
As for the twitter, it will continue to relay most of what's posted among the Facebook page and G+ pages.
If you haven't been following any of them, you're missing out.
