=== CO's Ramble ===

We're rolling into Session IX after a long year since Session I of the RS Reorganization. A lot has happened over the past year, and it looks like there'll be plenty more to come. The reintroduction of RS-wide fiction and other good stuff is in the works, but when it'll be ready is uncertain. I'm certainly looking forward to it!

Speaking of fiction, Nicolai's been on a roll again. He posted three new entries to the ongoing fiction of his Nicolai Ginovef character during the last session, and it's definitely worth a read. The first is here: with the rest following.

Go for the Gold!

- LCM Hermus Dogan

=== Squadron Status ===

During the last session we saw the addition of a new member, who actually isn't really new at all. Please welcome BGN Ace Farlander, a long time Gold member from the past. Welcome back, Ace!

On a fun side note, Ace's arrival finally ends Gold's long run without anyone over the rank of Colonel.

Gold currently has ten members.

=== Activity ===

Well, we dropped to fourth place in the last session, but we still had six members reporting activity. Keep it up, Gold!

From the leader board:

Ace Antilles - 1 SP points
Ace Farlander - 3 SP points
Anubis - 3.6 MP points
Hermus Dogan - 8.4 SP points, 5 MP points
InterlinkKnight - 1 SP points
Nicolai Ginofev - 3 SP points, 36.6 MP points

Next session has already begun, and ends July 29th.

=== Promotions ===

None to report.

=== Medals ===

Yesterday, June 23rd, we saw the End of Tour ceremony for the past year. Lots of awards all 'round.

First up is one I specifically nominated:

COL Nicolai Ginofev: Your activity for 2012 so far is nothing short of impressive. For constantly participating in sims (and sometimes running them) and maintaining your ongoing entries in Gold's fiction thread, I nominate you for the Alvace Star. Congratulations!

Listed below are all the awards received by Gold in the EoT ceremony.

1LT Ace Antilles: Dauntless Combat Citation, Tour of Duty Pin

BGN Ace Farlander: Tour of Duty Pin

MAJ Anubis: Heroic Combat Citation

LCM Darth Gumbo: Anchorhead Key Citation

CPT Domeno: Anchorhead Key Citation

CPT FBK: Heroic Combat Citation

LCM Hermus Dogan: Alliance Dagger, New Republic Medal of Honor, Tour of Duty Pin

MAJ InterlinkKnight: Endor Victory Citation, Gallant Combat Citation, Tour of Duty Pin

COL Nicolai Ginofev: Alvace Star, Anchorhead Key Citation, Tour of Duty Pin

Congrats, all!

=== Squadron Activity ===

In the ongoing special activity we're looking for suggestions on naming each of Gold's three flights. If you're not sure what I mean, have a look at the flight names of Red and Red Dragon squadrons on the roster page. I thought about going the Red Dragon route and using various shades of gold for the theme, but I wasn't too sure on the idea.

Therefore, send your ideas forth. You can post them in the following forum thread:

Otherwise, there are the usual batch of activities.

Simming - Many of you are already familiar with this.

Flight sims and EaW - The new missions haven't been posted yet, but they'll be in the usual place.

Historical missions - You can always play old missions from the various platforms and report the results for a limited number of activity points. Listing here: and reporting here:

Multiplayer - Play matches of any game you can provide a screenshot of the results for, but at least two members of the RS must participate in the match to qualify.

Fiction - Introduced as a squadron activity in the last session, now a permanent option. Rules are in the section below.

= Fiction Writing =

This is a permanent activity for whenever you feel the inkling. Write about whatever your RS character might be up to: recent activities, a specific event in the character's life, playing a practical joke on another member, etc. If you're into simming with the ABG you can alternately pick any of the characters you've created for that. Yes, even dead ones. In addition, you can write about the (mis)adventures of your character(s) in Star Wars: The Old Republic if you like, or just use the Old Republic setting for a framework.

The fiction must be at least 300 words, but can otherwise be as long as you want. You'll receive a point for each piece of fiction you write (going by the points awarded for my and Nicolai's entries for January by Kirghy). These rules are subject to change whenever High Command gets the new system worked out.

You can post your fiction in this forum thread:

=== Closing ===

That's all for now. Go for the Gold!
