Return to Subterrel
XvT 404: Intervention - due November 4, 2012
Created by ADM David "Heavy" Pasiechnyk and LCM Hermus Dogan.

= Mission Overview =

The raid on the Imperial outpost in the last mission was a success despite the unexpected starfighter defenses. The strike team was able to recover much of the data contained within the computer banks before being forced to leave. Among that data were the coordinates for another, similar outpost in this sector.

Given the additional defenses provided by the hyperspace-capable drone fighters it's clear that these 'abandoned' outposts are not forgotten by the Empire, which we've been able to confirm. Long range sensor scans have revealed some unusual energy signatures and the presence of at least one capital ship. Rather than attempt another boarding operation we're simply going to destroy the outpost.

The assault will consist of End of Days and eight starfighters while the Assessor and Squall will remain outside the mission area. In the event this is a trap we don't want our more vulnerable assets in the line of fire.

= Mission Details =

This is the fourth mission of Heavy's Return to Subterrel tour. As with the rest of the tour, this mission is multiplayer-capable. You can either band together with other RS pilots to complete it or fly it solo - your choice.

Due to the multiplayer support in this mission, pilots can pick which of the available craft they wish to fly: A-Wing, B-Wing, or X-Wing. The A- and X-Wings have a standard load of concussion missiles while the B-Wings sport a double load of proton torpedoes. All craft have chaff, X-Wings can alternately take concussion missiles, and B-Wings can swap torpedoes for concussion missiles.

Full mission details can be found in the in-game briefing.

XWA Sim: Smash & Grab - due November 4, 2012
Built by LCM Hermus Dogan

= Mission Overview =

A shipment of equipment is being transported through a nearby system by the Empire. Intelligence suggests it might contain some useful comm equipment, but we'll see. Any technical goods will probably be of some use to us, as will the ships carrying them.

The convoy will soon reach an area between hyperspace jump points, ripe for the picking. Fly in, smash the escorts, grab the goods, return home.

= Mission Details =

The original plan for this month's mission fell through, so I had to whip up a replacement mission over the last few days, thus the delay for its release. This is the result!

A B-Wing loaded up with chaff and a standard load of proton torpedoes stands between you and the Empire, but you can swap for flares and concussion missiles.

Full mission details can be found in the in-game briefing.

=== The Future ===

Next session brings us the next segment of Return to Subterrel for XvT and one of two possibilities for the XWA mission; I haven't picked which yet.

=== Call for Help ===

The help received thus far from Ace Antilles and Jay Forerunner in building new missions has been greatly appreciated, but more builders are always valued. Anyone out there willing to help us build missions for either platform should shoot me an e-mail about your interest and include any missions you may have already created. Even if you lack mission building experience but are willing to learn, don't hesitate to respond; it's the interest that counts.

=== Closing ===

That's all for this month's newsletter. Due date for mission reports is November 4th. Fly fast and shoot straight!
