Today, The Disney Company has announced that it will acquire Lucasfilm, Ltd. for an estimated $4.05 billion. Kathleen Kennedy, current Co-Chairman of Lucasfilm will become its President under Disney.

Part of today's announcement is that Episode 7 will be released sometime in 2015 with "more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga and grow the franchise well into the future." Kennedy will be Executive Producer on all new Star Wars feature films with George Lucas as creative consultant.
