XvT 315: Rescue Abra 'Carr Station (RgF 203) - due May 26
Created by Wes Belden
= Mission Overview =
A recent scouting patrol detected an Imperial Frigate hanging around an Abra 'Carr scientific research station, on the other side of the Abraddo system. The spy we deployed in the last mission confirms our fears: the Imperials plan to destroy the station as a warning to the Abra 'Carr for their resistance in the Abraddo system.
Unfortunately, the majority of our warships are still near the Oron system after the last mission. The Mon Cal Cruiser, Stingray, was previously dispatched to deliver supplies and rotate fresh crew members to the station, so it should be arriving shortly.
The Abra 'Carr, still wishing to remain neutral, have activated a distrsss call - we must assume that the Imperials have begun their assault.
The Abra 'Carr only have a small force of Z-95's for defense, so they will require our assistance if they are to survive. If we can save the station, hopefully they will decide to join our cause once and for all.
= Mission Details =
This is a normal mission; fly with the usual rules. Multiplayer is available for two players, if you're inclined.
Possible craft you can use are an A-Wing or X-Wing. Standard loadout of Concussion missiles for the A and Proton Torpedoes for the X. No countermeasures or beam systems.
Full mission details can be found in the in-game briefing.

XWA: Defend Shipyard - due May 26
Built by MAJ InterlinkKnight
= Mission Overview =
An important Rebel shipyard complex is under attack by an Imperial fleet, and our main defense is a great number of X-Wings.
We need to first eliminate the fighters and then attack the Star Destroyers so they retreat or, better yet, are destroyed.
Our calculations indicate that we have a narrow chance to win. The key is to destroy all enemy fighters as quickly as possible. If they destroy too many X-Wings we will not have enough firepower to go against the capital ships, because our platforms' defenses are very limited.
Good luck.
= Mission Details =
To quote InterlinkKnight:
"The idea of this mission is to enjoy a more realistic battle, having all AI fighters, platforms, and ships on Jedi difficulty. But don't worry, you can also count on Jedi-level Rebel friends to help you.
The mission was meant to be played in hard mode, so you will receive many bonus points for playing on that difficulty."
You'll be flying an X-Wing with no warheads, no countermeasures, and no beam systems.
Full mission details can be found in the in-game briefing.

=== The Future ===
Next session we'll be seeing another new mission for XWA, and possibly one for XvT as well.
=== Call for Help ===
I'm in need of someone to take over the Assistant Platform Coordinator slot for XvT and XWA.
Duties include the approval of mission reports for the two platforms, building and/or testing new missions, helping assemble the regular platform newsletters, updating the platform pages on the wiki (this is nearly done), and filling in for me if I'm ever on leave or otherwise unavailable. Don't worry, it's much simpler than it may sound.
Those interested should shoot me an email or private message. Addresses and links can be found on my profile page.
